“Okay, so what’s the plan?” the question came from Ephram, who had been nervously tapping his foot in the back of the jeep ever since we’d parked two blocks away from Suckerz. I had driven there as fast as I could. And I had no plan. All I knew was that my mate was in trouble, and I needed to get her back.

“I don’t have a plan,” I confessed to my cousin who glared at me in the rearview mirror.

“You don’t have a PLAN?” Ephram bellowed.

“Oh shut it, E,” said Milo, “what did you expect? For him to come up with one while he’s worrying about his mate being kidnapped by vampires? It’s not exactly prime thinking time.”

“Okay, but you brought us here!” Ephram said. “You literally took us to the bad guys evil lair and you don’t have a plan.”

Jackson glared at Ephram. “Hey, just because they’re vampires doesn’t mean they’re villains. No need to get all racist and bullshit, bro.”
