They had tried attacking me. The vampires. Something about that had enraged Celestine enough that her inner wolf had come out. She was completely shaken. She had thought that because she was half-human and half-werewolf that she couldn’t shift. But she’d been so overcome with fear and anger for me that she had done so anyway. When she shifted, she had killed every, single vampire in the club, ripping them limb from limb until there was nothing left. But then she hadn’t been able to shift back to herself, hadn’t wanted to leave the club.

I’d been to scared to know what to do so I’d just stayed with her. Then, out of nowhere, Milo had come, and I saw the relief in Celestine’s eyes when he stepped into the room. “Celestine, we’ll figure it out,” he said, “come on, come with me.” And he got us out of there. When we walked out of the club, Malaki was there, waiting for me.
