Malaki Crescent

I didn’t sleep restfully that night. She was back, in my arms, in my bed, and I kept on waking up. I had to make certain that she was real. Or that she hadn’t snuck off in the middle of the night. I knew that she was upset with me over the room thing, but after the vampire incident, she hadn’t talked at all about having her own space. But part of me wondered if she was too scared after everything had happened.

When I got up in the morning, she was gone although I had no idea how I didn’t hear her leave. But we did both have classes in between the whole immortals, magic, and bloodshed thing. “Where is she?” I asked when I went downstairs. Milo was on the couch with Ephram eating cereal, and Jackson was making toast.

Milo exchanged looks with Ephram. “Well, you see…”

“Well, what?” I asked. “My mate left this morning and neither of you thought to ask where she was going?”
