I was going to the wolf’s lair. Literally. It was quite possibly the dumbest idea I’d had since being with Malaki. What I should have done was run fast and far away. That was what normal people did when confronted with monsters. They didn’t go looking for danger. They got away from it. Instead, I was having danger’s baby. And asking to get invited to the family reunion. Yeah, so much for being the smart girl.
“Are you okay?” Dawn asked.
We were cramped in Milo’s large, black jeep. Milo was driving, Malaki was in the front, and oddly enough, James was in the back with us. Sinead, Keavy, Ephram, and Jackson were in Sinead’s car following along behind us. After everyone realized I was pregnant, and that this was an all-hands-on deck situation, the group had decided to come with us to go see the Crescent family pack.
