With all these thoughts going through the mind of the protector, his resolve hardened further.
A determined expression on his face and was about to make a move, when the sound crisp footsteps broke the eerie silence which had followed after the guard's killing.
"I must admire the Moonfox Consortium," Amden's calm but chilly voice echoed in the hall as he arrived on the balcony. "But I am confused about the reason my admiration."
"Should I admire for their courage or their stupidity?" Amden continued. "The protector can answer this…"
By the time, Amden arrived on the balcony, few gasps could be heard in the hall. Most of the people in the auction hall were the locals of Azalia town and held some status especially those of the other VIP room and few of them naturally recognised Amden. They would have also recognised Cilia, if not for her veil.
Amden unbothered continued, "Not moving an inch when someone threatened the heir of Vantistart family in his own town and then trying to a make a move against the adopted daughter of the Vantistart family. Is it courage or stupidity?"
Meanwhile the protector had turned as white as a sheet. He was among the few who could recognise Amden Vantistart. But it had been too late.
Even those who did not recognised Amden now understood the situation. The entire auction house descended into another round of pin drop silence. Vantistart. The true ruler… overlords of Azalia town.
Amden stood there calmly with an expressionless face. But the protector was anything but calm. He was horrified… terrified beyond measure.
The protector knew that he had made the worst and probably the last mistake of his life. Not only he had ignored two threats from Trot Wilson and Ravien Carter against Amden but he had almost launched an attack on Cilia.
He had also broken his duty… his role and job set by the Moonfox Consortium to maintain order during the auctions hall by ignoring the two direct threats.
The Consortium naturally had to ensure security of everyone in the auction hall so that no one could use their status to suppress another person and force him out of bidding. If unchecked, not only will it affect the image of the consortium but also their profits.
The protector might have easily pulled few contacts to get away, if it was just a random young master and had also gained the favour of Ravien Carter but now he knew that Moonfox Consortium would gladly offer his head to Vantistart family to pacify their anger.
Amden, on the other hand, gazed at everyone present there. His light blue eyes appeared extremely menacing. They appeared as deep as an abyss ready to swallow everything standing in its way.
He then turned towards Ravien, "Same question to you too, Mr Carter. Stupid or courageous. I personally feel that I must admire you for your stupidity."
Ravien's expression turned extremely ugly at this obvious insult. Yet despite all the developments, he was not particularly afraid.
He himself was a no road side pauper. His status rivalled Amden as an heir to an elite family. Even if he was standing in Azalia town, he knew that Vantistart family would not dare to hurt him. Carter family was no small player of the power game.
With these thoughts in mind, Ravien regained his arrogant expression on his face and laughed, "Even if you are Vantistart heir, you are the one who has to answer."
He continued arrogantly, "My guard only tried to pressurise you, yet your maid killed him. You should have simply revealed your identity and we could have had sorted out the matter peacefully."
A smirk formed on Ravien's face thinking how he had put the blame back on Amden.
He continued, "But considering I was the one who gave the first order to threaten you… not knowing your identity I would offer you an easy way out."
He continued lost in his own world, "Apologize to me and I promise my family will not pursue the matter."
Amden did not react or answered anything to what Ravien said. He looked at him as if looking at an idiot.
His voice boomed in the hall," Take one of his hands as punishment for openly threatening me."
A single sentence was enough for Cilia. She moved at a lightning speed and slashed her sword but this time her sword collided with another metal surface. The protector stood opposite her, in front of Ravien brandishing his own sword.
Cilia frowned. She was a peak C Rank and for her killing a middle B Rank- Ravien's guard was easy but she could not go against an A Rank- the protector.
Amden narrowed his eyes. He had not expected for the protector to interfere even after knowing his true identity. Yet it was understandable.
The protector knew that after mistake he had made death was the only option. The Moonfox Consortium would not go against the entire Vantistart family for him and especially when, it was him who had made the mistake.
His only bet was the Carter family. Ravien had already formed a feud with Amden so following him was the best way possible. He could only give it all for them now.
Amden 's face still remained expressionless. He was waiting for something or specifically someone to arrive.
Ravien was going to open his mouth once again when suddenly an overwhelming pressure forced everyone on in the auction house on their knees except Amden and Cilia.
In the next moment a red haired matured lady was standing next to Amden. She was Clara.
The moment Ravien had threatened him, Amden had contacted Clara requesting help.
He thought she is generally free and goofing around so she is ideal candidate to ask help.
Only if Clara knew what Amden was thinking. She was happy that her grandchild had remembered her in moment of crisis.
Everyone in the auction house was horrified. Who did not recognise her? The legendary Clara Samaila.
She questioned in a sweet voice, "What happened my child?"
Amden narrated everything quickly and crisply.
Her eyes turned frosty and the pressure emitted increased further.
She boomed her voice chilly, "It looks like Moonfox Consortium does need to do a lot of explaining. And for now, I would be keeping the land as a compensation."
After that she waved her hand. The protector's head rolled down and Ravien's hand was severed.
He fell on the ground as he screamed in pain and agony.
Clara continued without any expression on her face, "Consider this as mercy. If I was the one making decision your head would be rolling down."
This was indeed true. Because even if the hand had been severed it could be joined again. Just that the Carter family would need to spend a small fortune for it.
With that Clara, Amden and Cilia disappeared from the auction house.
