Scott couldn't do anything. For half an hour, he was struggling to get out of the cuffs that were on his hands. Suddenly, the car stopped and it seemed that the person got out of their car.
Scott then heard the car door next to him open. Then grabbed his legs.
Scott started to panic. "Get off of me!"
However, that person threw him out of the car into the snow. Scott's face was cold as he can feel the snow through the sack.
The person then took off the sack in Scott's head giving him a glimpse of the guy who kidnapped him. It was an adult in a suit with gray hair as well as hazel eyes.
"Who the hell- '' Scott was interrupted as the person pointed a gun at him.
"Take one more step or else." The guy put the gun closer to Scott's head.
With no choice, Scott went with the guy's command. "Who are you? Where am I?"
"I should be the one asking questions, not you." The guy is still pointing his gun.
"My name is Agent F5, an agent from the FBI. I have many questions for you."
"What questions?"
"Were you the one who killed one of our SWAT teams?"
"What?! How would I-" Scott was again interrupted as Agent F5 shot a bullet towards the ground next to Scott.
Scott, terrified, decided to keep quiet.
"Did you kill one of our SWAT teams?" Agent F5 pointing the gun back at Scott.
"No. I have no idea what you're talking about."
"Are you sure about that. Then why did we get a voice from one of our dead officer's earpiece that sounded like a kid. And your voice sounds somewhat familiar to it."
Scott was starting to get cold as the temperature started to drop. "Look sir. I had nothing to do with what you're talking about. I was just walking around town to find a job and nothing much."
The agent then put his gun away.
"If you're not the killer, then tell me more about your residency."
Scott sat on his knees. "You see. I'm just a kid who wants to have a better life for himself after my old neighborhood exiled me from Des Moines. Now me and my mom decided to move here to find better lives. But this town was always suspicious as I was chased down by a sociopathic football Jock wanting to kill me and at the same time killing my friend during homecoming. So if you think that I killed those people then think again!"
"So what happened to this sociopathic jock then. He might be the one who killed the SWAT team."
"Think again. A few months ago in November, he died when trying to chase me down."
"What was his cause of death?"
"He tried to run me over with his car, but failed when I juked him, causing him to crash into a bulldozer."
"So you did kill him!" The agent was ready to pull his gun out from his holster.
"No I didn't. He died from his own pride. The car that he was behind exploded causing him to be severely burnt and died from his own wounds."
Scott then stood up. "If you want to be suspicious of someone, then maybe look at John or his girlfriend Laura."
"Who's John and Laura?"
"He's a guy in my school with a lot of ego in him. He always brags about he's the King of High School and the most popular kid in school. Laura on the other hand is just a cheerleader and John's girlfriend."
The agent was suspicious. "So what does it have to do with them being the suspect of the team's murder?"
Soon the wind blowing on Scott's face was getting colder as the snowflakes keep falling on his hair.
"If I tell you, can we talk more in the car? I'm freezing my ass off."
The agent was also freezing as he was just wearing a suit and nothing else. "Fine. But you'll be sitting in the back seat so there isn't anything suspicious of you."
They both got in the agent's car as Scott was still handcuffed and behind the agent with a fence window between them. The agent turned on the heater with some heat coming more to the front seat than the back seat.
"Feeling comfortable?" The agent looked behind.
"Somewhat." Scott sitting in the backseat with cuffs still on.
"Now continue with your story."
"Well as you see. I was very suspicious of John and Laura after the day of the homecoming dance. I was heading to school on Sunday to bring my friend's motorcycle back."
"And?"
"And when I got her motorcycle I saw the school entrance was open. I was suspicious whether my friend left or she passed out at the school so I went into the building. But what I was what I didn't believe."
"What did you see?"
"Blood."
The agent then wanted to know more about the story.
"There was a trail of blood leading to the top floor of our school. And when I went into the door that the blood trail was going, it was John, Laura, and Troy laughing at my friend's dead body as her body fell to the ground like a rag doll."
"Oh my God."
"And and not only that, his girlfriend is going to kill me before spring break if I don't confess that I'm the one who killed Troy even though he did it to himself."
The agent looked to himself. "This might be going somewhere."
"So you might not be the killer after all."
"Well yeah. I've been telling you that many times. I had nothing to do with the SWAT team being ambushed and murdered."
"Look kid. I was just trying to investigate the situation after what happened last week."
"Last week?"
"You see. One of our SWAT teams was ambushed that seemed like an explosion that came from the sewers as if they knew were we coming. And it was in front of a giant mansion.
"A giant mansion?"
"Yes. We believed that it might be the mayor's house and-"
"It's John's house." Scott interrupted the agent.
"Come again?"
"The mansion that you're mentioning. That's John's mansion. I went to his place for a party as he invited me there. But he seemed really suspicious and wanted me to be his friend."
The agent then thought to himself as he muttered. "John and Laura killing this kid's friend, one of our SWAT team's trucks being ambushed near his mansion."
"Kid you might be onto something. If it really was this John guy, then he's the one responsible for the SWAT team as well as the kidnapping of around ten thousand residents near this town."
"A kidnapping?" Scott was curious.
"Ever since the 1990s, there have been people going missing near the area and the rate has been growing till this day."
Scott started to get scared as he was unaware of this situation.
"As a result, the FBI has sent me here to investigate the situation as to where the other people went as well as the many uncertainties of the town."
The agent then had a proposal. "Here's the thing kid, how about you investigate more about this John guy and tell me the reports on the town. If you know this John guy, then we can see where we can go with that. And maybe bring justice after what happened to one of our SWAT teams."
Scott was hesitant with the proposal. "Why would I help you? You threatened me with a gun and almost shot me. So why would I help a scumbag like you?"
"Let's say you need the money for your friend's medical bill."
Scott was shocked. "How did you-"
"I've been following you around as before when I was suspicious of you killing out SWAT teams. I know you were struggling to find a part time job because of the weird outline that this town has fake stores as well as employees that don't even act like humans."
The agent brought out his checkbook writing a check for Scott. "If you agree to help me investigate more about this town as well as track down what John is doing, then I can start you off with five hundred dollars."
"How about it Scott Smith? Do we have a deal?" The agent rolled the check to fit through the holes of the fence like a window.
With no choice. Scott took his check.
"Great so until this case is over, you'll be my apprentice for this investigation. So welcome to my internship." The agent is trying to be funny.
However, Scott wasn't laughing as he's more angry at Agent F5 for kidnapping and nearly killing him.
"Yeah I deserve the silent treatment for what I did to you." The agent then turned on his car to bring Scott back home.
As they reach Scott's house, Agent F5 gets out of the car to head to the backseat uncuffing Scott.
"Better?"
"Sure." Scott gives Agent F5 a mean stare.
Scott walks home with the check in his pocket.
"By the way Scott, I want to let you know that we'll meet every Tuesday so I can check up on you and see how the investigation is going. Are we good with that?"
Scott nodded yes.
"Alright. And remember if there's something wrong over there, I added a GPS as well as a mic to see what's happening."
Scott was frustrated as his phone was now being tracked down but had no choice but to accept his offer; it was the only way he could get the money to pay Jim's medical bills.
"Okay." Scott said in a soft tone.
"Great. I'll see you next Tuesday."
The agent left as he drove away from Scott's house.
"I guess this is my new job then." Scott looked at the check Agent F5 gave him.
