During the weekend, Scott and the gang were all working hard as Jim read every medical book in his house, Natalie ordered medical supplies online, and Dwayne ordered an air mattress. Scott on the other hand headed to meet agent Dan at the container updating him about the case.
On Sunday, Scott and agent Dan both sat on top of the car eating cheeseburgers and fries, while looking at the snow melting around them as the winter season was coming to an end.
"I can't believe you survived that fight with your bully. You sure have a strong will." Dan sitting next to Scott.
"Well I'm not the only one who fought him and his gang. My friends helped me as well and I'm pretty grateful for that." Scott ate a french fry.
"Hey, I should also get the credit. I gave you FBI training and bought you that softball bat. By the way, where did you put that bat?"
"In my locker. Just for self defense in case other students try to fight me like Troy or Drake."
"Fair point. Also, I got some news for you."
"What is that?" Scott questions.
"Well, remember the bully that you fought nearly two weeks ago? Drake Triborne I think that's his name."
"What about him?"
"Well it turns out that he's actually a felon and was a fugitive on the run from the feds. He burned down a senior citizen's apartment causing nearly one hundred elders to die. Drake Triborne was found in the Iowa police Department with a gun attached to his hand. Since then, he has been arrested by the feds and now it's up to the court to judge him. Probably going to be sentenced to life."
"Wait, how is that possible? The last time I saw him, he was unconscious on the playground. Are you talking about the same Drake that I know?"
Agent Dan shared his phone screen. "Is this the guy?"
On the pic, Drake was heavily chained up wearing an orange jumpsuit giving a creepy smile at the camera man.
"Yep, that's him. But what about his other crew? Were they arrested too?"
"No. Besides Drake, the others went missing and the authorities have no idea where they went. Have you gained sight of them?"
"No. Ever since Drake's gang went missing, the school's basketball team has been cancelled, which proves that they aren't in school either."
"Then where did they go?" Dan questions.
"Who cares. They probably left Sunshine Valley since their leader is now in prison." Scott takes a sip of his soda.
"So Scott, have any updates on the case?"
"Yeah actually. It's about the contract situation. I think I've gained some big insights."
"Tell me."
"Well Dan, remember John's girlfriend that I sometimes mention. Well, it turns out that she's actually a good person, complex but good."
"Define complex?"
"She sometimes behaves in a way where she acts like a brat and only listens to her boyfriend. But recently, she started to act more casual after the situation where she started to vomit blood and blood coming out of her nose."
"Oh my God. That's not normal."
"That's what my Mom was thinking as well. I used to hate her, but after that, I'm just concerned for her wellbeing. Even right now, I pray that she's doing okay and that John doesn't lay a finger on her."
"I'm sorry to hear that, Scott."
"It's okay. So when I started talking to her, she actually knew what the contract was, so I was thinking of me and you can interview her to know more about it."
"That's fine. Let's do it right now." Dan threw his burger to the ground.
"However, let's not force it on her. Even if she did know, her memories are still a blur and it's going to take time."
"Then what should we do?"
"I was thinking that we can get her the medical help she needs. Sunshine Valley doesn't have any hospitals or clinics so me and my friends are working hard to help her as much as possible."
"Wait, that doesn't make any sense. Why aren't there medical facilities?"
"No idea. I don't get how my Mom grew up there."
"But back to my case. So if we can help Laura and put her in minimum condition hopefully, then we can discuss the contract. If we're going to know more about Sunshine Valley, then knowing what a contract is is a first start."
"Great." Dan put a magazine into his gun.
"Also, whatever you do, do not point your gun at her like you did to me when we first met. That's gonna scare her and probably will worsen her condition."
"Fine." Dan putting his safety on.
"Alright. When me and my friends are ready, I'll call you." Scott gives Dan half of his burger.
"Just call whenever you're ready." Dan smiled, taking the other half of Scott's burger.
For the rest of Saturday and all of Sunday, Scott and his friends were all doing their part in order to help a student in need. With Jim's job being the most important, he spent all night studying every medical book he could find. However, he started to get frustrated not knowing the condition that Laura has, so Jim started to get sleep deprived relying on the coffee from his cafe.
Dwayne brought his inflatable mattress to Jim's house inflating it until it was full of air.
"Isabelle. How's the bed?"
Isabelle sat on the inflatable mattress putting a thumbs up. Dwayne smiled seeing Isabelle making a cute thumbs up.
Natalie brought some of her medical kits and tools brought from her house.
"Jim. I brought these medical supplies and a medkit from my house, but I don't know if these tools can actually help her."
"It's fine Natalie. Even though I'm sleep deprived, I'm trying to see what condition Laura has and it's still so damn hard to see what it is. But anything will work."
"Take it easy Jim. Remember, we're not professionals and it's okay to struggle. Just do the best that you can." Natalie calms Jim down.
"You're right. Let's just see what Laura's condition is first when Scott brings her in and then we can see where we can go."
"That's the spirit. But I do hope that Scott is making the right choice." Natalie being concerned.
Meanwhile, Scott looked at John's mansion from across the street being concerned for Laura's safety.
"Laura, I hope you're doing okay in there. I don't know what's happening in there, but please stay safe from John. Please." Scott then walked away from John's mansion.
On a Monday afternoon after class was over, Scott immediately tried to find Laura in every part of the school from the first floor to the top floor of the school and even outside of the school.
"Laura. Where are you?" Scott ran around the school.
Suddenly, Scott ran past the cheerleading squad. Noticing that Laura was part of the team, Scott ran towards them.
"Excuse me ladies. Do you by chance know if Laura is with you guys?"
"Not anymore. Laura quit the cheerleading squad last week." Jenny said.
"Do you guys at least know where her locker is? She's probably packing her stuff at the moment."
"Of course. Her locker is on the third floor and her number is 319."
"Thanks a lot!" Scott ran back upstairs.
Reaching the third floor, Scott ran towards the locker and finally found Laura behind the locker door.
"Laura! I hope you had a great weekend! Listen, me and my friends want to help you with your condition so I was thinking if we can walk to Jim's house together and see how we can help you."
However, Laura started laughing in a very girly way.
"Uh Laura?"
"HEHEHE! LOOK WHO IT IS! IT'S THE OUTCAST OF SUNSHINE HIGH!" Laura closed her locker door smiling at Scott.
Laura looked as if she was super excited with her rapid heartbeat visible from her cheerleading uniform.
Scott approached an unexpecting turn seeing how he was concerned for Laura as it looked like she went back to her old self but in an unstable way.
