Red Dawn

The following evening, David was driving towards the FedEx Field to where the game was being held. Despite his dark thoughts, David was feeling a little optimistic about the game. He needed something to get his mind off the looming threat of the Outer Heaven Army and he figured where else but a football game. He arrived at the stadium and was able to find parking quickly, then walked towards the entrance where he spotted Campbell, Meryl and the new recruit who was an older man with sandy blonde hair. Meryl turned and grinned once she saw David approaching them,

"Hey, you! Wow, you actually came, Frank owes me five bucks." She said jokingly,

"Did you guys actually bet on me coming?" David asked,

"It's fun." She said, Meryl then wrapped her arm around David's,

"C'mon, you and I are going to have so much fun together!" excitingly yelled Meryl,

"I've been to football games before, Meryl." David replied,

"You haven't been in a football game with me, Dave." Meryl said back, David then turned to the new recruit,

"Sorry, we haven't been formerly introduced, David Halley." He introduced himself, holding out a hand to the man,

"George Kasler, nice to meet you, I've heard many stories about you, David." George shook his hand as he introduced himself,

"Well, welcome aboard to FOXHOUND." David said happily,

"Alright enough chit-chat, let's watch some football!" Meryl exclaimed as the three headed inside. While the others were inside, Campbell was outside when he spotted Frank approaching him,

"Hiya, Frank. What was so important that you needed to speak to me-"

"The Outer Heaven Army is back, sir." Frank told him, Campbell's expression quickly changed knowing Frank wouldn't joke about something like this,

"Tell me what happened." Campbell requested as him and Frank began walking inside,

"Ellen informed me and David that her father was kidnapped. When we investigated, we found that the Outer Heaven Army was responsible." informed Frank,

"Can you confirm it was them?" asked the Colonel,

"Yes, furthermore, thanks to the help of our contact in the Post, she found out that two more scientists were kidnapped as well." added Frank,

"Do you have the names?"

"Yes, Johan Jacobsen, a zoologist and Dr Kio Marv, a colleague of Madnar. I found the location where they are apparently staying, the MPD and FBI are on their way to investigate." Frank said,

"Very well, as of now, keep this information to ourselves then we will discuss this more later." ordered Campbell, Frank nodded as they entered into the roaring crowd of the football stadium. David couldn't help but enjoy the time, especially with Meryl. Being surrounded by people who were just having the time of their lives despite the freezing cold was amazing, it was truly an escape for him. Later as the game was in its final quarter, the fans were on the edge of their seats as the two teams were tied up, the Commanders were on offense and were about to make their final play, only twenty five seconds left. The quarterback gets the ball as the defenders protect him for one last ditch effort, the clock is counting down faster and the attendees are chanting madly for their home team to win. He throws the ball towards an open wide receiver, the ball dashes through the air, heading towards the receiver. He leaps to catch the ball and lands in the end zone but then, that's when the fans and football players all suddenly heard and saw the most frightening thing imaginable. David and the group heard loud explosions go off then saw helicopters and fighter jets alike race through the sky, their cheers of intensity turned into shrieks of horror. Suddenly, a group of people stood up, armed with rifles and black ballistic masks and began opening fire on the innocent civilians. Using their experience, David and the others quickly ducked as the armed forces began shooting, then they quickly began making their way to the exits, trying to avoid getting shot at. David then heard with cunning ears the sound of a gun being armed from the left corner he was approaching, he took a deep breath then noticed the barrel of an AK-47 being raised. Instinctively, David grabbed a cup of beer then threw it at the terrorist's eyes. They screamed from the burning then David quickly kicked the rifle away then elbowed the terrorist's throat and grabbed their knife. He spotted one of the other terrorists about to take aim then threw the knife into their head and grabbed the closer terrorist's handgun then fired at three others before they shot. Meryl came from behind David then picked up the rifle and shot down three terrorists, Kasler followed up by rushing to the other the dead terrorist then picking up their rifle and helping Meryl shoot down the other terrorists. Meanwhile, Frank and Campbell already took cover once the gunfire commenced, the battle hardened Frank Jaeger closed his eyes, concentrating on the sound the bullets were making as they exited the rifle. He waited until the bullets finished firing and the moment the magazines fell out of the rifles to strike like the natural born hunter he is. Frank quickly picked up a straw then threw it with enough force to jam it into the terrorist's throat, quickly before they could reload, Frank leapt over and kicked one back. He then leaned forward to grab the straw then shoved it inside the ear of another terrorist to kill them before pulling it out and finishing the wounded terrorist behind him by jamming the straw through his brain. Horrified, the last terrorist quickly tried taking aim but couldn't react quick enough as Frank punched the straw hard enough to exit the dead terrorist's skull and enter the remaining terrorist's chest, fatally piercing his heart. The moment happened so fast it nearly frightened the Colonel how lethal his operative really was, Frank then rushed as he heard the others near the shooting. Frank noticed a group of them coming, armed and ready to shoot them but the deadly warrior lunged towards them before they could shoot. He kicked a couple of them down and tossed one of their knives toward David,

"SNAKE!" He called out, David quickly turned and caught the knife, he then assumed his stance then rushed in as Frank was fighting the terrorists off. David quickly stabbed one in the lung as Frank jabbed another in the eye with his thumb, then he tossed him to David who shot the blinded terrorist in the head. David then sliced another's abdomen, leaving them wide open for Frank to obliterate their neck with a strong kick, Jaeger followed up by backhanding a terrorist towards David as he shot then stabbed their heart. The two were in sync, naturally following each other's flow as they took down the group of terrorists one by one. Once they were finished, Meryl, Campbell and Kasler went up to the two,

"I got more weapons in my car. Let's rush to it then figure out our next step-" Frank was caught off guard by the sound of a radio,

"This is Alpha Squadron. All tunnels have been destroyed, we are preparing to make our way to Capitol Hill, requesting covering fire from the US Armed Forces." said a terrorist, Frank picked up the radio and put it in his pocket,

"We need to move now!" David yelled, they all nodded and began rushing their way down the stairs. They walked down to see hundreds of innocent lives dead as the terrorists checked their bodies to make sure they were dead. David quickly took cover behind a wall and slid out his magazine to check how many bullets he had left.

" Focus… " he assured himself, David then quickly turned to shoot three of the terrorist down, he slid out the magazine then tossed it at one of them which allowed Meryl and Kasler to shoot the others down as David rushed in to stab one in the throat then turned to kick the last one towards Frank who violently and effortlessly snapped their neck. With little time left they managed to exit the stadium and rush to Frank's car, he quickly opened the trunk door then removed the floor cover to unveil a collection of weapons, including his signature sword.

"Alright, here's the plan, Snake and I are going to rush to Capitol Hill and stop this squadron from killing any of the politicians. Meryl, you three go and get Ellen and Miller, they're going to be targeted first by the army." Frank ordered,

"Got it." Meryl replied,

"Meryl, please stay safe." David said to her worriedly,

"Always will be…Solid Snake." She said with a smirk, which made David smile back. Frank and David got in Frank's car and began hurrying towards the city as they saw the sight of the war zone in the horizon.
