Remi came to with a groan. The back of his head was throbbing and a slow ache spread throughout his body until it throbbed as much as his head did. His eyes slowly fluttered open and white spots danced before him. His right foot ached and he could feel the cold bite of metal against his bare skin as it laid underneath his ragged and torn trousers.

Another groan escaped him. He tried to sit up, taking his time since his head was spinning and white dots still lingered in his eyesight. His whole body ached to the point that he thought he was going to pass out again. Then it hit him. Why didn't he just heal himself?

Remi closed his eyes and took a deep breath. At the same time he called forth his light magic. A warmth swelled up inside of him, filling him with a light and loving feeling. Suddenly, the warmth stopped spreading as if confined in a cage. His magic died out, echoing hollowly inside him.
