"How was this possible?" I ask it with my eyes wide in shock.
"Heremedox was once good, infact his was once King Louis the ruler of Zyron, a top official and his son Kovex was the prince and heir to the throne. King Louis then became drunk with power and greed and that's what made him earn the name Hermedox."
So just like humans, aliens were driven by greed and ambition. I guess this doesn't have to do with humans but has to do with any creature in this universe that has intelligence. Even in the animal kingdom, there is the fight for power; the hyenas when they are still a pup, go against their siblings and kill them so that they can rise to the top only the strongest survive.
"So what did he do when he figured out that he was going to go up against his father?" I mutter. I imagined how terrible he might have felt when he found out that his father was the monster the prophecy talked about. I know how I felt when my dad shot me thinking I was a monster, I was both scared and sad. I couldn't even move an inch.
"My young master was devastated and he cursed the prophecy for putting him in such a miserable situation. He tried to change his mind but he was adamant, he was a different person, it wasn't the King and father my young master knew. Eventually, my young master died trying to convince his beloved father since he could not fight against him." My subconscious walks towards me and places his hands on my shoulder, "Please, Jayden, grant my young master's wish, and defeat Hermedox. My young master chose you before he died, and now you shall carry his name; Kovex and save this universe from enslavement."
This is a hard thing to do, but I have decided what I will do and I have made up my mind, I am going to accept this fate, I am going to bear the name Kovex and I'll defeat Hermedox and save this universe from enslavement and ruin.
"How strong do I need to become before I can stand a chance against Hermedox?" I ask it with a smirk and its eyes become wide like large saucers. It is surprised at the sudden zeal I just showed now and a glint of happiness appears in his eyes.
"Very strong," it grins. I know that in my present state, I can't stand Hermedox so I need to get stronger before I can go against him.
"Well then," I stand up from the rock I was sitting on and straighten myself. "I guess it's time for me to get very strong."
If I want to get very strong I need to train and know my powers very well.
I am tired and I have not eaten or drank anything for more than a day now. Before I can start training to get strong I need something to drink and eat.
Nothing was out here, only snow rock and pine trees are here. I guess there won't be any animals to eat out here.
While still thinking of something to eat something hops past me and I turn with the speed of light to see what it is. A white Arctic hare is jumping around finding something to eat.
I grin when I realise that there are still some animals that survive in these weather conditions.
I begin chasing the hare, it is fat-looking and will make a good dinner yet it is very fast. I hit my head on a tree in the process of chasing it and I curse out loudly.
The hare heads to a small opening in the ground and I straighten myself quickly. If I lose it then I won't have anything to eat and I'll die of hunger.
I focus on the hole and with my imaginative powers I make it disappear and put a rock there instead. The hare hits the rock and falls to the ground.
Got you.
I walk to where it is lying and I pick it up, it tries to struggle away from my grip and I hold it tight. I look at it and then my eyes meet with its cute little dark eyes and I begin to feel bad that I'll eat it.
I bring it closer to my face and whisper to it, "I hope your meat will be as sweet as you look."
It shudders and I begin to laugh like a psychopath. Even little animals with low intelligence feel fear.
Even though I feel bad for it, I am still going to make it into spicy meat and eat it. It isn't my fault, this is how this system works.
...
The wood burns slowly and the flames of the bright orange fire go up into the sky. I take the last piece of meat from my locally made grill made out of sticks placed on top of each other and I begin to eat it.
I was able to find some herbs to spice it while roasting it over the fire. The meat tasted delicious and spicy. This is my first time eating hare meat and I am really enjoying it.
After eating every bit of it and drinking some water I got from a frozen lake, I feel refreshed and I begin to feel energy flow through my body.
I begin to prepare where I will sleep so that by tomorrow morning I'll be filled with energy and then I can start training to defeat Hermedox. It isn't going to be easy for me, but I will give it my best.
I create a bed with my imaginative powers and I lie on it. I am still fascinated that anything I think of can come to life. Even though my powers are cool it has some weakness; when I think about something and it becomes a reality, if I become distracted and that thing goes off from my mind then it will return to normal. So I have to always focus more than usual whenever I am using my power. I wonder how I can use this power in battle, with all these weaknesses it seems so inconvenient. If I have no weaknesses then I will be very strong and no one will be able to stop me.
I stare at the starry sky and then let out a deep breath. Here is so quiet and cold, only the sounds of insects, leaves bristling from the cold wind and the eerie hooting of the owl.
I begin to feel cold so I create a blanket to cover me and I feel warm a little.
This is like a dream and it happened so fast, I never knew that a part of my boring life would become this interesting. I am glad that I am slowly understanding why all this happened and this power. I know that there are still more things I need to know but with time I will know them.
My eyes start to become heavy and in no time I sleep off.
I wake up lying on the bare snowy ground and the golden rays of the morning sun hit my face.
I yawn and look around. The bed and the blankets disappeared because I was not awake to focus my mind on them.
This is so frustrating, I need to find a way to make what I create stay without me having to concentrate on it.
"Good morning, Your Highness." My subconscious greets and I jump from the suddenness of its voice. "Are you ready for your training?"
I shoot it a glare and then I sigh. I stand up from the ground and bring my hands together.
"I'm ready." I said with a wide grin plastered on my face.
"Before you start let me tell you your current stats." It begins walking around me. "Strength level 1. Endurance level 0. Focus level 0. Intelligence level 1."
How on Earth is my endurance and intelligence level so low? I haven't eaten anything for the past four days now and I have been enduring since. And I am the best in my class, I have won a lot of educational competitions, why then is my intelligence stat level 1?"
It continues. "XO level lvl 1. Agility lvl 0. Speed lvl 0. Reflexes lvl 0. Adaptability lvl 1. Muscular structure: very poor. Height: very poor."
This thing must be faulty. I engage in sports so my agility, speed, reflexes and adaptability are surely higher than that. My muscular structure and height are not very poor, I am 5'11 with an average body structure.
"You need to reach level two of each of your stats before your powers can upgrade to level two."
So that means that I need to get to the next level in all my stats before I can finally upgrade to the next level of my powers. So even though I enter level three in strength and my speed and the rest is level one my power will still be at level one. So I need to make my agility, my strength my speed, my reflexes and so on level three before I'll reach level three of my power...
An impish grin crawls to my lips and I rake my hair with my fingers.
This is going to be fun.
