Challenge From The Thunder Dragon

(Jason's POV)

"So, Old Man, what do you need this time?" I asked Makarov who was sitting on the counter

I was at the Guild Hall, this was the day after Mira and I had the talk.

I didn't want to talk about what we discussed. We can save that for later; right now, Makarov had sent for me. He told me he needed to speak to me urgently.

He looked at me with a serious look, "Thank you for coming, Jason." He said, "Firstly, I would like to thank you again for helping us with the threat of Endless."

I shrugged, "It's all good." I said, "As long as I am not run off the city, haha."

He nodded, "Of course. We would never do such a thing to you." He said, "Secondly, there is something I must tell you."

I looked at him with a confused look, "What's that?"

"About your fight with Gajeel." He said seriously

I looked around the guild hall, I didn't see Gajeel around. Guess they really did take that order serious, Makarov doesn't want him near me.

"Look, I already apologized for that." I said, "But the truth is, I was acting in self-defense."

"I know. Levy told me of the details. You aren't in trouble, as far as I'm concerned." He said, "I gave Gajeel his own punishment for instigating the fight, sent him on a couple of missions he usually doesn't enjoy."

I nodded, "Okay." I said, "Then if my problem isn't with you, what then?"

"Well...." Makarov said scratching his cheek, "The thing is...."

"Your problem is with me." I heard a voice say

I turned around to see Laxus standing in the middle of the room, with his arms crossed. He had the Thunder God Tribe behind him as he gave me a serious glare.

I could feel his intense aura from all the way over here, he sure looked like he was in a foul mood. Could it be that he was blasted away by Endless and I came in and fodderized the thing? Nah, must be something else.

"Oh, it's you." I said, "What's up?"

"Laxus here...." Makarov said, "Wishes to challenge you to a fight..."

I looked at Makarov, "You serious?" I said, "Didn't Gajeel get in trouble for that?"

"Gajeel instigated a fight without permission from his superiors." Laxus said, "I am officially challenging you to a fight, in front of the Old Man. He will sanction it."

I looked at him, "Heheh." I chuckled, "You serious?"

He narrowed his eyes, "Do I look like I am joking?" He said, "I don't like you."

Well shit, he's not messing about. I thought I would be in good terms with everyone in Fairy Tail, I guess I was wrong about that. Laxus has always been against me since the moment we met.

I frowned, "And why's that?" I asked

"Your debauchery ends here." He said, "Its about time someone beats you down."

Makarov cleared his throat, "I figured it would be good to end the hostility here." I heard him say, "I don't want Laxus here to do something rash, so I might as well allow this fight to happen. But only this once. Get it out of your systems once and for all."

I looked at Makarov again, "Are you sure about this?" I asked

He nodded, "Nothing I could do to change his mind." He said, "It's best if we get this out of the way."

"This will be a duel." I heard a voice say

I turned to see Erza walking up to us, she was wearing her usual armor. Her beautiful scarlet hair was let down as it flowed down elegantly. Man, she was fine as hell.....

Erza looked at Laxus, "This won't be a fight to the death." She said, "Got that, Laxus?"

Laxus nodded, "I know that."

Erza then looked at me, "Do you accept the challenge, Jason?" She asked me

I sighed, "Last time someone from Fairy Tail challenged me to a duel and I accepted, it didn't end well." I said, "And I beat Gajeel horribly too."

Laxus walked up to me, being a couple of feet away from me. I could basically feel his animosity from this close.

"I am not like them." He said seriously, "I am the S-Class Mage, Laxus. Don't lump me in the same category as them."

I placed my hand on my chin, "I mean, you're right." I said, "You should be stronger than them....."

Erza gave me a slight smile, "Laxus isn't weak, Jason." She said, "I wouldn't underestimate him."

I smirked, "I accept." I said, "Only because I'm bored."

Laxus scowled, "Best change that mentality." He said, "It won't end well."

I snapped my fingers and pointed at him, "Sure bud." I said, "Hold that thought."

"I got an idea."

******************************

"What the hell is this?" I heard Natsu say

"When did Jason get here?" Gray said

I looked at them, they were standing next to Erza. I didn't even notice when they walked into the room.

I had everyone gathered around as I had a massive spinning wheel set up in the front of the room.

Makarov was looking at me, "What is this, Jason?" He asked me

The wheel had various colored sections that were labeled. I watched as Makarov squinted at the wheel.

"Sky god slayer.....Thunder god slayer...." He read under his breath, ".....Martial Arts...Steel god.....Jason, are these your magic?"

I nodded, "Yep." I said, "They are."

Gray walked up to me, "You're gonna fight Laxus after all?" He asked

"Yep." I said

"What're these for?" Natsu said

"I'm making this more interesting." I said

"What do you mean?" Makarov said

I turned to look at Laxus and pointed at him, giving him a smirk.

"I'm only using two of my magic." I said, "That should even the odds, I guess. Although, I have a feeling that using two would still be overkill."

Laxus glared at me, "You think limiting yourself will insult me?" He said, "I'll beat you down no matter how many magic types you use...."

I shrugged, "No, you won't." I said, "I don't wanna hurt you severely so I'm gonna limit myself to two of these magic. Now, I want you to know that I'm gonna exclude my main God Slayer magic. I won't use Black God Slayer. Now, spin the wheel to see which of these I'll use against you."

Laxus frowned, "You want me to spin it?" He asked,

"whoever is fine." I said

Makarov cleared his throat, "I'll do it." He said, "I'll spin it twice, Jason?"

"Yea." I said, "Give the first spin a try."

Makarov walked up to the wheel as he looked up at it.

I leaned in to Gray who was standing next to me, "Little tip, I hope I don't get to use Martial Arts Magic. For his sake, I mean." I whispered, "That would suuuuuck...."

Gray frowned, "Yea, I bet it would." He said, "Those spells are cheating. The Spatial spells and your obliteration style."

I watched as Makarov spun the wheel. Everyone in the room went quiet as the wheel spun rapidly. As it slowed down, I could feel everyone shifting in suspension.

I watched as the wheel stopped, the arrow pointing at the first choice.

It read:

Sky God Slayer Magic

"Oh, nice." I said, "Wind against lightning."

Makarov nodded, "I'll spin again." He said

He then spun the wheel again. I watched as it rapidly spun, this time I was genuinely hoping it didn't land on Martial Arts magic. It would totally suck for him, since I can combine my God Slayer attacks with Martial Arts spells.

The wheel slowed down to a stop, landing on the second option.

It Read:

Earth God Slayer Magic

Makarov nodded, "Two God Slayer Magic..." He said, "Jason, don't you think that's too much?"

I chuckled as I began stretching my arms, "Nah, it should be fine. Laxus is a powerhouse with his Lightning Dragon Slayer magic." I said, "I don't got much experience with those two magic compared to him. This is as fair as it gets."

Laxus walked up to me, "Then it's settled." He said

I nodded, "Yea." I said, "Sky and Earth God Slayer Magic vs Lightning Dragon Slayer Magic."

"Best show me what you're made of."
