Mavis's Thanks

(Third Person POV)

Inside the Fairy Tail guild hall, everyone was gathered to hear the sudden news of Mavis's condition. It was an extremely shocking revelation, nobody could even believe it. It was two days after Jason left town and Mavis was fully adjusting to her body when she revealed herself to her guild.

It was already after the Council's meeting with the guild and now everyone was shocked to see the First Master of Fairy Tail to be in a new adult form.

"Wait what?" Lucy exclaimed, "First....your body..."

They were all looking at Mavis, who stood next to Makarov in the stage. Mavis was wearing casual clothes that fit her better, as her body was more grown and mature, as it was meant to be.

Mavis nodded, "Yes..." She said, "It is difficult to explain but that is the truth. My body was changed, it essentially reverted to the natural aging process and it's now in the form where it should've been when I 'died'."

All of the Fairy Tail mages were murmuring amongst themselves, this was too much to process all of a sudden. With the looming threat of war and then Mavis's condition, it was a bit too much for them to handle at once.

Erza walked up, "Master Mavis." She said, "Does that mean this is your physical and living body? You're no longer a ghost?"

Mavis nodded, "That is correct." She said, "I am alive and well. Like I said before, it is hard to explain how this happened, but basically, I was helped by a mutual friend of ours."

Everyone stopped murmuring and looked at her, expecting her to say the name of the one that helped her.

Makarov cleared his throat and looked at them, "It was Jason." He said, "If it wasn't for him, who knows what'll happen to the First."

Suddenly, everyone was murmuring amongst themselves again. Some were not happy to hear that name while others were just confused, wondering when Jason had arrived to town and left again.

Lucy looked down, "Jason, huh?" She muttered to herself

Erza nodded as she looked at Mavis with a smile, "I see." She said, "So Jason helped you out. That makes me glad. To think he'll still help us without us realizing."

Mavis returned the smile, "Yes!" she said brightly, "It is certainly a nice thing, to have him as an ally."

Gildarts and Laxus both walked up to Makarov and Mavis. Laxus had a serious look on his face while Gildarts had an angry scowl.

Makarov looked at Laxus, "Don't even mention it." He said, "You had your chance and the two of you already fought."

"That's not my point, gramps." He said, "We have to keep him here."

"Let me at 'im, Makarov." Gildarts growled, "That son of a bitch laid his hands on my daughter!"

Makarov sighed, "Your daughter is a grown woman, Gildarts." he said rubbing his forehead, "And as for Jason, we tried inviting him to the guild but he refused."

Mavis nodded, "Yes, it's true." She said, "He left without saying another word."

Gildarts crossed his arms, "Then point me in his direction." He said, "I'll go and beat him to a pulp."

Laxus looked at Gildarts, "You best be careful, that guy's a monster." He said

Gildarts scowled, "Then you best back me up, then!" He said, "Let's gang up on him!"

Mavis chuckled nervously, "Easy, guys." She said, "Let's calm down..."

Laxus looked at her, "It's not that." He said, "It's best if we keep him at arms length, just in case Alvarez does something."

Makarov nodded, "You have a point." He said, "But Jason...he's something else...too stubborn."

Gildarts then looked at Mavis, "By the way, how would this work..." He asked, "You two are technically Masters. Who's gonna be in charge?"

Makarov looked down, "I'll step down willingly if the First wishes to take charge." He said, "I could use the break."

Mavis shook her head while smiling, "Oh, sorry, Makarov...." She said, "My time as Master has long since Passed. I apologize for that. It'll do me a favor if you stay as Master."

Makarov nodded, "If that's your wish." He said, "None of these children are ready, though. Even if I'm too old, I'll continue guiding these unruly troublemakers."

Laxus looked at Gildarts, "There's a fresh young veteran here." He said

Gildarts frowned, "Being Master means being here almost at all times." He said, "I'm not interested. But you-"

"Shut up." Laxus cut him off, "Not after what I did."

"Then we got a dilemma." Gildarts said

Mavis laughed, "It's okay." She said, "We'll figure it out soon."

"For now, let's just take it easy."

*******************************************

Mavis walked down a path through the woods, barefooted. She wore a longer and bigger version of her dress, and her long blonde hair was let down as it flowed freely.

As she walked, she had a bright smile on her face. She enjoyed the feeling of the fresh dirt underneath her feet, the gentle breeze hitting her face, and the smell of the trees. She was certainly in a good mood.

She carried a lacrima communications device that was given to her by Makarov.

"First, are you sure you should be out there by yourself?" Makarov's voice was heard from the device, "I am worried..."

"Don't worry about me." Mavis said, "I miss having these walks by myself. I will be fine, Makarov."

"Okay." Makarov said, "But are you sure he'll be where you said he'll be? Jason is the type of person to move around a lot."

Mavis nodded, "I think he'll be here." She said, "My tracking skills are good."

"Alright, just be careful." Makarov said

"I have to properly thank him for what he did." Mavis said, "And I'll attempt to convince him to join Fairy Tail. It'll do us a favor to keep him in the guild, safe."

"Understood." Makarov said, "I have to go, be safe!"

The device then turned off as Mavis walked. She was smiling brightly as she walked out of the tree line and towards the sound of a flowing river.

"He should be here..." She said, "Nature pointed him here. Quite the nice trick Warrod taught me.."

As she walked towards the river, he felt Jason's immense magic power. Feeling it, she got a bit of goosebumps, she wasn't used to this amount of power at a single point, despite being Fairy Heart.

"Okay, where is-" She said before widening her eyes, "J-Jason?"

She stopped by the river bank and looked in front of her. Next to the water, was Jason, collapsed face-down and not moving.

Mavis then immediately ran up to him, "Jason!!" She said frantically, "Are you okay??"

She crouched down and turned him around, Jason's eyes were still open but she saw that there was no light coming from them.

"Oh no!" She said

She placed her ear on her chest and could faintly hear his heartbeat.

"This is bad..." Mavis said, "Jason, wake up."

She gently shook him, but Jason didn't respond. Mavis then felt an odd magic power coming from his head.

She placed both her hands on his temples, focusing magic power on her palms. She was about to use a Telepathic spell that she learned when she was young, during the time of war.

Mavis then widened her eyes as she realized what the problem was.

"No..." she said,

"His mind is shattered..."
