Memories

(Third Person POV)

Mavis had Jason's head on her lap as she had her hands on his temples, focusing magic power on her palms.

Jason's mind had apparently shattered, due to some unknown reason. Mavis was contemplating on either calling for help or doing something now to help. She noticed that Jason's body temperature was slowly falling, meaning that he'd soon die if nothing is done.

Mavis sighed, "I haven't done this in a while...." She said, "I have to use a telepathic spell, it is high grade spell. It's extremely risky but I have to do it.."

"Telepathy: Mind-to-Mind Transfer."

Suddenly, there was a bright white aura that surrounded them. Mavis began to grimace as she looked down.

"There's so much resistance!" She said, "I have.....to.....break through....."

The spell she used was a high-grade spell she would often use to enter the minds of others to heal them from any sort of mental trauma. She would use them on the victims of the bloody wars she would take part in back when Fairy Tail was first founded.

Suddenly the aura exploded brightly and Mavis's body collapsed on top of Jason's. She was now unconscious as well, but this was due to her spell working.

They were now in the mind and memories of Jason.

Memory Starts:

Mavis stood in a room, she didn't recognize it. It was decorated with modern real-world things, such as posters of classic rock bands and toys from the early 2000s. Mavis could only assume this room belonged to a young boy.

She walked around, adjusting herself to the mindscape of Jason's memory.

"This...." She said, "This is Jason's memory?"

"What're you doing here?" she heard a voice say

She looked towards the front of the room, on the floor, Jason sat, with his back to her.

"Jason!" Mavis exclaimed, "Are you okay?"

"Do I look okay?" Jason retorted, "I don't know what's happening, but I can only assume that I'm in a memory of mine. I don't remember it....and my body's in the physical world, right?"

Mavis walked up to him, "Y-Yea..." She said, "I used a spell to enter it..."

"Why?" Jason said, "You should leave me here. It's my problem."

Mavis looked at him, "Jason, you helped me, no, you helped us!" She exclaimed, "Why wouldn't I help you?"

Jason didn't look at her, he merely looked at the door that was closed in front of him. He had a real serious look on his face, as if he knew that whatever this memory was, it wasn't good.

"Look behind you." Jason said

Mavis then looked behind her, on a bed, a young boy, no younger than 7, laid on the bed, looking at the door with a scared look on his face.

Mavis looked at him closer, she recognized him. He looked exactly like Jason, despite him being a child.

"Is that...." Mavis started

"It's me, I guess." Jason said

Mavis looked at Jason, "Wh-"

"Whatever this memory is..." Jason said, "It's not good. I can feel it. Do yourself a favor and leave."

Mavis was about to speak when the door suddenly opened and a woman walked in, promptly scaring child Jason. The woman passed by Adult Jason who sat in front of door, ignoring both him and Mavis. She was wearing nothing but underwear and a strapless shirt. She stumbled her way to the bed where child Jason laid, who merely looked at her with a terrified face.

Adult Jason, merely looked forwards, to the open door that led to pitch-black darkness. Mavis looked at the woman as she sat on the bed and leaned into child Jason who tried leaning away but the woman grabbed him by the face.

"S-Sto-" the child said

"Shh..." the woman said, "Your mother is drunk and asleep....and if you scream and wake your sister up, I'll beat you."

"But.." the child said, "I don't want to do it....not tonight...I'm tired...."

Mavis looked at this with a shocked face, "What is this?"

The woman squeezed child Jason's cheeks as she leaned in to him, "You and your dumb Judo shit." She said, "Sohee is stupid to spoil you....."

She stood up and walked towards the lit lamp and pulled the draw-string, plunging the room into darkness.

Mavis took a step back as she couldn't see anything but she could hear the footsteps as the woman stumbled her way back to the bed.

"Shut up and let it happen." the woman's voice could be heard

Mavis then heard a soft whimper as she heard kissing noises.

She had a horrified look on her face, "W-What?"

Suddenly, the room changed without warning. They were now in a kitchen, the window letting the bright sunlight in.

Mavis turned to look at Adult Jason still sitting looking ahead of him.

"Jason....." She said

"Yea..." He said, "I knew of that dream....I had it the night I left Magnolia."

Jason then stood up and turned to Mavis, looking past her and to the kitchen.

"Jason, was that...." Mavis asked

"I suppose so." Jason said, "From here on out, I don't know what'll happen. And I know it won't be good."

Mavis turned to see a young woman with beautiful long hair in front of the stove, cooking. She had a blissful smile on her face as she was cooking eggs and bacon.

"Who's that?" Mavis asked

Jason shrugged, "I don't remember." He said, "I'm assuming she's my mom. One of the two, I guess."

Jason looked at the pan, seeing her scrambling the eggs as the bacon sizzled. He then smiled slightly.

"I suppose my love for eggs and bacon has always been a thing." Jason said

Mavis looked at him, seeing nothing but pain in his eyes. She could tell that him not remembering anything affected him and it caused him pain.

She then looked back at the woman as she cooked.

"Kids!" She called out, "Breakfast is ready!"

Suddenly, a little girl ran into the kitchen. She looked about 3 or 4, running around with nothing but energy.

"Yayyy~~!!!" the girl yelled out in excitement

The woman looked down and chuckled, "Calm down, dear." She said as the girl hugged her leg, "Go and get on the chair, I'll serve you a plate. But you better eat it all, okay?"

The little girl sat on the table as she excitedly awaited her plate. The woman then served her a plate of eggs and some sausage.

"Eat." She said smiling

"Okay~" the girl said as she began to slowly eat with a spork

The woman then looked up with a frown, "Jason?" She called, "Where are you, honey?"

Then, child Jason waked in, wearing a bag on his back.

"Sorry...." he said as he rubbed his eye, "Woke up late....had to get my bag ready...."

"Well good morning, my beautiful boy~" the woman said as she hugged and kissed his cheek

Child Jason flinched at this, which surprised the woman.

"What's wrong?" she asked worriedly

"Nothing." child Jason said, "I'm not gonna eat, I gotta get to school."

He then walked out of the kitchen and left.

The woman looked at this in awe, she wasn't sure how to respond.

"W-what happened?" She said

Mavis looked at Jason, who stood next to her.

"Jason..." She said

"Seems that mom was ignorant of what happened behind her back." He said seriously, "Ain't that a bitch?"

Suddeny, the scenery switched and they were at what seemed like a park. The little girl from earlier was on a swing as she laughed joyfully.

"Big bro!" She called out to child jason who was on a bench reading a book, "Come push me more!"

Child Jason shook his head, "Any more and you'll fall and hurt yourself." he said

Mavis looked at this and smiled slightly, "She's your sister?" She asked, "She...."

"Doesn't look like me." Jason said, "Cause we were both adopted by those two women. I happen to be foreign to the country we lived in and this one, she's native."

Mavis nodded, "I see." she said, "She looks adorable."

She looked at Jason who had a grim look on his face, as if feeling nothing but sorrow from this memory. Despite not remembering it, he knew nothing good would come from any of this.

"She was." Jason said

Suddenly, Mavis heard the girl scream for help.

"Big Bro!!!" She yelled out

Child Jason looked up from his book and saw that a group of older kids had pushed his sister off of the swing.

He dropped the book and ran towards them, "Hey!" He yelled, "Leave her alone!!"

Jason pushed some away as he crouched down to see if his sister was okay. She had a scrape on her forehead that was bleeding. He widened his eyes in fear as he frantically looked for a rag or napkin in his pockets.

"M-Minji..." He said as he pulled out a cloth and pressed it against the wound

One of the kids pushed him off her and they all suddenly began kicking him as he was on the ground.

Mavis widened her eyes as she watched this, "Why are they doing that?" she asked

"Humans." Jason said, "Some are good and some.....not so much....even from a young age, you can tell which are rotten and which aren't...these....are the rotten ones."

As child Jason stood up and pushed the kids away, he glared at them.

"Leave us alone!!" He growled

The older kids didn't say anything, just sneered.

Jason's sister then stood up and ran away as she cried. Blood and tears were blinding her eyes but since she was in a state of panic, she kept running. Jason, who was crowded by the group, didn't realize this and kept pushing the kids away.

Mavis watched and noticed that the girl had gotten to the street outside the park.

"Jason!" She exclaimed, "She's.....No!"

Mavis then covered her eyes as a tires screeched and a loud thud was heard. Jason, who stood next to Mavis, only watched without flinching.

Mavis then looked as a group of adults were standing over the lifeless body of the girl as they pulled their phones out in a panic to call for help.

Child Jason saw this with widened eyes of fear, shock, and just panic. The other kids were frozen, as well. They never expected for this to happen.

Mavis covered her mouth as tears formed in her eyes, "Jason...."

Jason sighed, "I guess this is where it began...." Jason said, "What caused her to call me that...."

Mavis looked at child Jason whose eyes changed, becoming more demonic, wrapped in nothing in anger as tears flowed out of them.

Child Jason then grabbed one of the kids by the sleeve and in a quick movement, slammed him straight to the ground on their head, causing them to bleed.

"Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!" Child Jason shouted in pure anger and rage as he charged at the kids

Mavis watched this in shock as Jason stood next to her.

"I've always been strong, I suppose." Jason said,

"Guess they found out the hard way."
