King Jason's Spear

(Jason's POV)

As we walked down towards the basement level of the palace, I was merely looking around the walls and noticed that they were just filled with moss.

"Not a lot of people have been here in a while, huh?" I asked

Mystogan, who was in front, nodded, "This section is mostly abandoned." He said, "Until recently."

"I thought the Anima gate was opened in the sky." I said

Byro cleared his throat, "This one in particular can be opened anywhere." He said, "So we hid it underneath the palace where nobody could find it."

I nodded, "I see." I said, "That's fair."

I guess it's fair. I never heard of an Anima Gate spell that could be opened anywhere, but I guess anything is possible in this world.

As we reached the basement, I noticed an odd pressure. We walked through an open doorway as I saw a bright swirling portal that was in the wall.

"So that's it?" I asked

"Indeed.." Byro said, "The Anima Gate."

In front of the Gate, Erza Knightwalker was standing. She was holding what looked like the first or default form of her Holy Spear.

"Erza." Mystogan said, "Thank you for guarding the gate. No issues?"

She shook her head, "No." She said, "All was well here."

"That's good." Mystogan said before turning to me, "So it's come to this, Jason. At long last, you can return home. I thank you, again, for helping us the way you did."

I shrugged, "I already told you." I said, "No need to thank me."

He then cleared his throat, "Erza."

"Yes." She said walking past him and towards me, "It's hard to let it go, but it has no magic, therefore, useless."

She handed me the spear.

I grabbed it as I gave her a frown, "Erza." I said, "You..."

"It wasn't mine." She said with a sad smile, "It was King Jason's spear. I merely borrowed it long after his death and committed various sins with it."

I looked at the spear, this was the First Form; Eisenmeteor. It had 4 blades that curved inwards, resembling a jaw. I felt nothing but its cold steel, as it was a shell of its former self.

"I see.." I said

Erza smiled, "I know you'll take care of it and possibly restore it to it's former glory." She said, "After all, you're King Jason's counterpart, aren't you?"

I looked at her, "Erza...." I said, "Thank you. I won't disappoint you."

I then walked over to the wall and placed the spear down, leaning it against the wall. I then pulled out a key from my pocket and walked over to a random old chest that was in the middle of the room.

Mystogan raised an eyebrow, "What is that?" He asked, "And what're you doing?"

"I can't just leave without leaving Erza a replacement for her spear." I said crouching down and placing the key inside the chest's keyhole, "I proper trade, call it."

As I turned the key, the chest began to glow.

Byro walked over to me, "I-Is that!!" He exclaimed, "M-Magic?!?"

I nodded, "Yea." I said, "I've had this the whole time."

This was the Workshop's Key. A cool thing I didn't know at first is that I can access the armory without using requip, which was veryyyy convenient in my current situation here in Edolas; no magic access. All I had to do is stick the key, which I luckily had in my pocket when I was sent here, on a chess. That way, I activated the spatial domain partially and was able to pull out any weapon and armor through.

I reached down and pulled out another spear.

As I straightened up and stepped back, Mystogan and Erza looked at the spear with their mouths open.

It was a long, metallic, spear that had a serrated blade at the end. It also had a trigger in the middle of the pole.

I then looked at Erza, "Here." I said, "This is your new spear."

She looked at it with awe, "W-What?"

"And no, it's not magic." I said, "I haven't had time to enhance it with magic."

"Jason, what the hell is this?" Mystogan said, "How are you able to access magic?"

"I can't" I said, "Just my workshop."

"What?" He said confused

I pressed the trigger on the pole, causing the spear tip to transform, sprouting out a bladed cross-guard as the spear glowed orange and sparked fire.

Erza widened her eyes as I handed her the spear, "This is what I used the gunpowder for." I said with a smirk, "Made my own custom trick weapons. Non-magical, but fueled by a bit of chemistry, ya know? You might be able to need to refill it with gunpowder but it should last a good while. In this form, it causes small booms in order to conserve the fuel."

Erza grabbed the spear as her eyes glistened, "Oh...." She said, "Amazing...."

I smiled, "Fair trade, no?" I said

She looked at me, "What is the name of this glorious weapon??" She asked with a bewildered face

I placed my hand on my chin, "Haven't thought of a name for it..." I said, "Hm....lemme think...."

A cool name, but not too edgy for a spear.....

"Ah." I said, "This one might be nice."

"Scarlet Glow."
