Chapter 12: Healing

"i..i...I was waiting for you" Tony said scratching the back of his head while I walked out of the class, the both of them staring at me as I walked away.

"Hey V? I've been meaning to ask, why do you want to patch things up with him"

" Are you serious right now? Tony, he's my friend, what you get to be cool with him yet I don't?"

"It's not like that I just...."

"That's enough Tony" Vanessa said as she stormed off and Tony followed.

Getting home I got a call from Lexi, didn't take long before we met up at the arcade, we ended up playing multiple games while talking, turns out there are three things Lexi loves a lot,games, novels and anime, I thought she would say food but she only ate when she was super stressed, she wasn't much of a sports person and didn't like anything physically related like exercise at all. Without realizing it Lexi rambled on most of the time while I did my best to keep track with her, at least we sheared one thing in common, video games, she introduced me to anime and I got hooked on a fighting series where all the characters where fighters with larger than life muscles.

When I got back home and went to my room, I met an angry and crying Vivian who, upon seeing me, threw my pillow at me and started horling things at me.

"Why did you tell my mom!!", " you promised to keep it between us, you lier" she said in tears. I guess Adeline confronted her about it.

"I'm sorry" I said when she ran out of things, she ran straight at me and started hitting me while crying her heart out.

"She forced us to break up, when I finally had him all to myself, why did you do this" she said. I felt a little bad for her but there was anger and pain growing inside me, I felt she deserved more than this but I still hugged her. She tried to fight back but soon gave in and cried in my arms while I held back the anger brewing inside me. That night Vivian slept in my room as after crying her heart out she went straight to sleep, I couldn't sleep so I went downstairs. Tried staying up late but slowly slept off on the couche, at 1:30 I woke up to cries from my step mom, I wasn't sure what had happened but I just went over and hugged her, she cried in my arms and started talking.

"What does he see in her, what did I do wrong, why am I not enough" she cried and complained while I did my best to hold her together.

"There's nothing wrong with you, you're beautiful and perfect"

"Then why, why can't he stay with me, and why a younger girl, why?" She said crying"

"Some men are just scum, they can't appreciate perfection when they find it because they themselves are imperfect", at that point Adeline finally looked up at me and I cleaned her tears away, " you're perfect, your loving, kind, caring and really beautiful"

" But maybe it's because I'm old, maybe that's why he doesn't want me anymore" she said.

" No you're not, you look way to young and beautiful for age to be a problem, he's just scum, that's all, there's absolutely nothing wrong with you" i said while cleaning her tears.

She just stared at me as her tears slowly stopped falling, we just started at each other, only then did I notice her nightware, it was completely silksmooth and black in colour and by the looks of it she wasn't wearing any underwear. I couldn't help but get distracted looking between her eyes and boobs, I didn't notice it before but looking at her up close, she was indeed really beautiful, or maybe I was getting too distracted by her boobs.

Without realizing it we where getting closer, our breath brushed passed our faces, our lips almost touching as we leaned in subconsciously but then we heard a noise from upstairs, the sound of a door closing and we snapped back on our senses. I didn't really understand what was going on but I knew sleeping would be hard.

The next day I went to school, I saw Lexi waiting at the school gate, upon seeing me she waved and I waved back, ( I guess she was waiting for me ) I thought.

"Hey good morning, did you sleep well?" She asked.

(She's like a puppy who's happy to see it's master ) I thought, " yh I did, you seem happy today, did something good happen?"

"Umm n..no, just woke up on the right side of bed today" she said covering with an awkward laugh, " we'll see you later umm friend"

"You know you can call me Jayson right?"

She smiled and just walked away really fast, I got to class and Tony was all over me, starting conversation out of nowhere, I didn't hold any animosity towards him or anything so I responded but it felt forced for some reason, what I didn't like was the fact my other classmates found this as an opportunity to start talking to me, ( all I did was work out and got a better fashion sense, why do I get so much attention ) I thought.

Classes went on but I could tell someone was watching me. When it was time for chemistry Vanessa sat beside me.

"We need to talk "

"Ok but we have class right now "

" I mean after school, can we like hang out, I want to talk to you"

" If nothing comes up then sure", she looked at me a bit surprised, " if nothing comes up?"

Jayson, Vanessa, are you two paying attention? The teacher called our to us, meanwhile Tony was watching closely. Heading to the next class being biology Vanessa tagged along.

"What do you mean if something comes up"

"Hmm I might have something to do or somewhere to be by the end of school but for now nothing comes to mind"

" So if something does come up you won't hold it so we can talk?"

" Vanessa we can talk anytime at all, what's so important that you want to talk so bad?"

She stopped for a moment looking at me before walking again, in biology lab she sat next to me again.

"Can you pls give me a chance and drop the attitude? I really want to talk things out"

" I don't know what you want to talk about but stop making it sound like we have a problem, we're cool" I said finally looking at her.

"Hey guys what are you talking about " Tony said bringing a seat between us which made the teacher call out to us. During lunch break I was about having lunch when Tony invited me to join up with Vanessa and Vivian, before I could reply I saw talia and her goons walking towards Lexi.

Talia and her goons where walking towards Lexi's table when Talia intentionally bumped into her friend, she was about spilling her food on Lexi when I caught her and her tray of food.

"Jayson?". She said

" Are you ok, you slipped right?" I said trying to cover it up.

" Yh, the floor is so slippery " she said smiling

"Ok well be careful next time I said as I left her and walked up to Lexi, "hey wanna eat somewhere else?", she brightened up with a smile and we went to the roof top to eat. There we started talking about games and the next big online battle royal game coming out.

"Sorry if I'm doing too much, it's just, because of talia's bullying and because I'm fat nobody talks to me, I know it sounds pathetic but it's been long since I had a friend so I'm a bit awkward"

"It's cool, I understand, well you have me now right? All that's left is to stop the bullying completely, besides, I was in need of some new friends anyway".
