Austin had droven over to Alora's university. He had parked his Alfa Romeo Giulia in a corner, not wanting to be seen in such an expensive car and spotted her walking out of the building with countless other students. He jumped out of the car and ran towards her. She looked suprised and right before she was about to talk, he rose his hand.
"Here me out, Alora. I would like to talk to you. "
Not wanting to create a scene, she nodded and followed him to his car. She got in and closed the door.
"Listen, Austin, " She began as soon as he entered. "Listen to me and listen good. If you make me for once regret this dangerous decision, bare in mind that you and I would not be on the same page. "
"Don't worry." He smiled and started the engine. "You won't."
He drove out if the building and 6nti the road. He knew where he was going to take her.
"I don't know why you are doing this. I am not your type and you aren't mine." She said.
"But I love you and that's all that matters." He kept his eyes on the road.
'Did he really mean that?' She wondered.
"Do you like your job?"
"Not exactly. I was born into a family of high ranking mafias and so, it was arranged that I followed in my parent's footsteps. I didn't have a choice."
"Oh." Perhaps she had judged him too quickly. "Well, what did you want to do?"
"I wanted to study International relations but my father made sure that I didn't enter university. Slowly, I gave up on my dream and soon realized that I could still travel the world." He paused. "But I didn't want to do it alone."
"I guess it must have been hard for you." She said, softly.
"It doesn't excuse my work." The car jolted to a stop. "Here we are."
She couldn't see what he meant since the car windows were tinted but when she came out, she opened her mouth in awe.
A glass house stood in all it's glory. The roof was white and she could see the beautiful antiques, paintings and multi-coloured curtains through the transparent walls. The house was sitter at the shore of the beach. She has heard that an unknown nan purchased a glass lake house but she hadn't known it was him. The sunlight bounced of the crystal-like glass and sent the rays cascading into the lake, making the place look almost unreal.
"Would you like to come in?" He asked ever so innocently.
She nodded and he led her to the front door. He inputed a password into the keyboard at the door and scanned his right eye. Instantly, the door clicked open and he stepped in. He took off his shoes and helped Alora with hers. She blushed at the gesture and followed him in.
