Dinner

Alora cooked like a pro. She was excellent at it. She chopped the cabbage, onions, carrots, broccoli and celery then, steamed it. She emptied packets of pasta into a pot and let it boil.

Her next problem was the steak. She washed it with salt, tenderized it then, placed it in a pot, added water and waited. She sieved the pasta and left it in the seive so she attend to the steak.

She took it out of the pot and rubbed it with olive oil, black pepper and sea salt. she added the steak into a hot pan, then, allowed it to cook for 6 minutes and turned it every minute. Each time she turned, she halve a garlic clove and a stick of butter on each side.

After that, she mixed thyme, curry, rosemary, olive oil and a bit of water in a bowl and used a wooden brush and applied it to the steak.

When it was surely cooked, she left it in the pan and let it soak up that flavour. Taking another pan, she added tomato sauce, some oil and let it dry.

Then, she poured a some black pepper, salt, bay leaves, tumeric, cumin seeds and finally, water. She closed the pot and began fishing out the food.

Totally worth it. Austin and Lorna disappeared from behind the door and went back to the living room.

Ally helped set the table. Lora didn't even know that her father was around until she heard him laughing with Austin.

"Father, good evening." She said, giving Austin a 'what did you do?' look.

"Evening, Alora. Who is this young man mother said you brought?"

"He's a friend. I have set the table."

"Great. Let's go."

Alora took a bath then, returned to the table.

After a quick prayer, they began eating.

"So, Austin." Ron began. "Wgat do you do?"

"Well Sir, I am a business man."

"I see. And how did you meet my daughter?"

"I was at her coffee shop and walked her home."

"That's great. Do..."

"Dad, that's enough." Lorna whispered.

After dinner, Austin bid the family goodbye and drove to the glass house. He showered then, sat down to think about everything that had happened.
