"What's up with him?" Austin queried, pinching his brows in annoyance. "I thought Sunday puts people in a good mood."
"He's just jealous." Alora shared in his annoyance. "I am sorry about your having to put up with him."
"Sure. What's your favorite ice-cream flavour?" The car suddenly stopped.
"We are there already?" She tried looking through the tinted windows.
"Yes, but I don't want you seeing the place. So," He rubbed his palms together. "What's your favorite ice-cream flavour?"
"Butter pecan and strawberry. What's yours?"
"Midnight chocolate." He exited the car and came back with a large cooler. He got into the car and started the engine.
"Austin, what's in the flask?" She eyed the flask that was sitting in the back seat.
"Ice-cream." He answered.
"Did you buy every ice-cream flavour in that store?"
"No, just the two flavours that we spoke about." He stopped the car.
"Where are we?"
"At the park. The view here allows you see the sunset." He took out the flask and went over to open Alora's door. "I won't take no for an answer."
They sat on a bench and watched the sun softly kiss the horizon until it disappeared beneath it.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Austin asked after the seemingly endless silence. He was done with his cream and now in the mood to talk
"It's..." She sighed, not knowing what to say. "I never thought I would share this kind of experience with someone."
"Same here." He stared off into the sky.
"Austin," Alora spooned some ice-cream into her mouth and looked at him with curiosity in her eyes. "I wonder why, of all the rich, fashionable women, you chose me? I wonder whether you would realize that we could never be together. I wonder where that killer in you went to."
He gazed intently at her before speaking. "Alora, when I first saw you, I knew there was something between us. Did you not feel it when we first we saw each other?"
"Not in that manner." She admitted, blushing slightly.
"Let me guess, you first felt fear." She nodded in concession. He gasped dramatically then, took her hand. " Love changes people in different ways. Loving you has changed me greater than you know." She raised an eyebrow. "Okay not all aspects of me."
"You are really good with words." She commented jokingly.
" I am a mafia boss. As a-matter-of-fact, I should be good with words." He muttered quickly.
"But do you mean it?" She looked down, feeling stupid for asking.
"There is no need for you to feel that way." He said, lifting her chin so that he could see her eyes. "I have felt attracted to you since that day and all the days after."
