She hugged him tightly. "Where were you?" She sniffled. "Why don't you want to see me?"
Austin dropped her on the bed and turned to the door. "I didn't want to make you cry."
Kuro sneaked out of the room, closing the door behind her. 'I hope you two make up.'
"But if you leave, I'll be sure to cry." She sobbed. "Why?"
"You told me that you didn't want either of us to get hurt and I couldn't bring myself to see you." He explained. "I really didn't want to see you upset."
"I know that I said that." She looked down. "But I didn't know how much it would hurt. You must understand the feeling."
"I do. Better than anyone at this rate." He put his hands in his pockets. "I heard your friend's been coming to visit."
"You mean Len? We aren't doing anything." She claimed. "I wouldn't dare."
"I know." He sighed. "He's a much better guy than me."
"What are you saying?" She grabbed his sleeve.
"I'm saying that I don't want you to get entangled in my job. You don't get to owe me anything."
"But, I want to spend the rest of my life with you." She confessed.
"I want to stop you from eating fireflies. I want to teach you Chemistry. I want to go out with you. I want to meet your family again."
"I want to the same but you don't understand." He said under his breath.
"No, you don't." She let go of his sleeve. "Why don't you understand that this is killing me? I feel it's my fault that this is happening and I want you to be there with me. I know I wanted you to go but I..." She paused. "Are you saying you want us to break up?"
"I guess I am."
"That's not happening." She blew her nose. "Once I am discharged, I am going to find you." She threw a pillow at him. "I'm not giving up on you and you won't make me."
"Are you sure you want to do this?" He asked.
"I'll chase you to the bathroom and to the ends of the earth." She smiled. "And I won't stop."
"You really don't give up, do you?" He held her hand and pulled her up. He kissed her and grinned. "Don't blame me if anything happens."
"Right." She hugged him
