Chapter 7: New Equipments And Improved Stats

Jayven made up his mind to improve his equipment, so he prepared and arrived at the Ambrosia Market. Upon arriving, he could see the wave of people, even those wearing armor.

And as he walked down the streets, some people commented about his get-up.

"Hey, he's wearing newbie gear."

"That is already outdated newbie gear. This time it is at least E-rank already."

"Oh yeah, So that means it was at least 3 years ago?"

"Well, seeing a person wearing that is rare now."

"So what? Stop looking at the kid; we've got to go hunting now."

"Oh yeah."

Things got awkward ever since Jayven entered, as he wore outdated armor. But it didn't last long, and he arrived at a shop.

"Hello, is the boss here?"

"Oh, it's Jayven. Long time no see."

"Oh, It's Big Bro Mark; are you watching over the store?"

The two greeted each other in a familiar way. Which is normal since Jayven had worked here before.

"Yeah, But what are you here for? Seeing you suit up like that, I guess you still haven't given up on your dream, huh?"

"Will yeah."

"So that stinkin brat is here."

As Jayven and the Current clerk of the store were talking, a strong tone of voice interrupted them.

"Hello to you as well, boss."

"Tch, what do you want?"

"I want a light armor and possibly a knife as well."

"Alright, just wait."

Hearing his request, the store owner then rummaged through his stuff and looked for something.

"Here, take this."

"Eh, but this is." When he saw the equipment, he was surprised since he knew what these were.

"What's not going to take it?" Seeing his dazed expression, the boss asked in a menacing manner.

"Of course I'll take it, but how much?" With no choice, he answered.

"You made it; of course, it's free." These equipments are something he made when he was working before.

"But it was your materials and tools that helped make it."

"First, just pay 200K ACC; you've got that much, don't you?"

"Yes, of course." After paying, Jayven left the place.

"Thank you, see you."

"Come again next time."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After Jayven left, the clerk named Mark said to that boss.
"Dad, I thought you would pester him to quit his dream and work for us."
"I'm not in the mood for that kind of talk, kid.."
"Sure thing. But you do know that what you gave him is three times it's orginal price, even if he was the one who made it."
"Shut up."
"Hehe, the old man can't be honest. Just how did she woo Mom?"
"He didn't woo me; I just took advantage of our situation."
"Oh, your back, Mom."
As he voiced out his thoughts, a person came up and answered him."
"I was here the whole time. This month's supplies are at the truck."
"Oh thanks. But I guess that explains things, huh?"
"He is rough around the edges, but it was not that hard to guess what's on his mind. After all, I have known him since our childhood."
"Then can you tell me what's on his mind right now? Even after all these years of being his son, I still can't read him."
"Oh, fine. Let's see." Knowing her son, She thought about it for a bit and then answered.
"I bet right now he is reminiscing about two boys who are arguing about the right way of smithing, and him telling them that they are both wrong and that he is right. Only to learn that he was also wrong and the other boy had the right idea."
"Hey, that hurts. I was only following what my dad had told me."
"But with the wrong approach. While the other created a new method all together, making the item more refined and easy to create."
"Well, fine, fine; he was a bit better than me."
"Oh, you're just like your father, stubborn."
"Then I guess I got my talkativeness from you—ouch! Sorry, sorry."
As if teasing his mother,when he said about the trait he got from her, only to get pinched on the cheek.
After letting him go, she gave a suggestion to her son.
"Well, want to see what he is doing?"
"I guess it's not that bad to peek, right?"
The two then moved inside the workshop, where there was a collection of weapons and armor.
And there the boss is, holding a pair of gloves. With a smile on his face, he said.
"Immature and crude, not to mention transforming the metal into something new—he just turned iron into cloth. Who would have thought of this? Too bad I can only teach him simple weapons within low-grade ranks; if he had stronger mana power, he would have done something better."
"Wow, I never heard him speak this long."
"I heard him say it longer once, but it was also quite rare for me to see it."
"Oh, when was it?"
"When we first opened business here, he argued a lot with the customers."
"Eh?"
Seeing this, the two were surprised because he only spoke a few words. So this is quite rare.
But even so, they let him be and continued to do their work, leaving him to have privacy.
-----------North Gate Of Blossom City----------
"Well, then, I am here now. Well, for starters, I have to go and follow the line, though."
After arriving at the Noth Gate of the blossom city, Jayven saw a long line of people, which is normal since inspections are needed before going out.
And since safety is important, the pathway is divided into eight lanes: four for getting out and four for getting in, and all have inspectors from both the police and the Hunter Association guarding the gate.
The lines are long and heavily guarded, so even if everyone wanted to force their way through, it would most likely be impossible, plus no one would dare make an enemy out of the Hunter Association.
So without making trouble, everyone made their way peacefully. And as they made their way through, an announcement was made to remind them.
[Please Don't Forget to Check up on your things before you come, so you wont forget any important items in your belongings. And if ever lost, we will not be held accountable But can only help in posting the lost item. ]
And as if there was more, a new announcement was made again.
[Plase be careful upon exiting the city. Please be reminded that you may lose your life to monsters outside. And it is also advisable to watch out for traps and look out for your stamina when moving so that your performance will not plummet. Continue to hunt. ]
After that, one after another, new announcements were made for everyone at the gate to hear.
[Currently A Group of bandits has been sighted at this location.......]
As the announcement continued, Jayven was moving in line to get a pass outside the city.
"This is boring. Why don't I just double-check my stats first?"
Seeing the long line that might last for at least an hour before reaching the place, he made the decision to check his stats.
So he opened his status to see his current progress throughout the month of training.
He looks at his status as the line progresses. Also, he wasn't the only one looking at his own stats; there were also others.
After all, as long as you don't give full authority to let others see your stats then you safe. That is why it is fine to open it in public.
Now that he had his stats, he was quite happy.
"The time was very tight, but I was still able to make good use of it."
Now that his stats were well adjusted for hunting, he was now ready. And after almost an hour of waiting, it was finally his turn.
"Okay, put your hands up. good"
"Give me your ID. Thank you."
"Your bag here, please."
Jayven continued to comply, and a few minutes later it was done and all his belongings were returned to him.
"Here is your ID; you may go and claim your stuff on the other side."
"Here is your luggage; we have checked it, and there are currently no illegal items inside."
"Thank you." Jayven replied as he received his bag. He attentively accepted the request as this was procedure, and after that was done, he was free to go outside.
