Chapter 50: Dungeon Transformation

After completing the trial Jayven's days were filled with training and preparation for the exam.

During this past week, he had been training hard that his gem gained an additional 20 points making his Ether Gem have 50 points of ether equivalent to 2000 points of mana.

Now he is trying to maximize his time to prepare for his application test to the Nine Paths Academy.

"But before that, I need to check the place out. Maybe I can find a good environment to train in."

'I don't know why but training outside is more relaxing. Jayven had these thoughts as he made preparations to train.'

This doesn't change much from how he usually does it. Jayven felt a lot more used to training in environments that are free and open.

It could be he felt more relaxed doing training out in public or that his place was once cramped, but he kept on training this way till he got used to it.

After his preparations were done he then prepared to set out. until a beeping sound came from his device and when he took a look he was disappointed.

[Have you received, Master's message?]

"Yeah, it seems like they were held up pretty badly."

[It was an unexpected event.]

Currently, Jayven looks at his device realizing his master will be delayed because of the sudden intrusion by the Demon activists.

"Well for now I need to go outside for a bit of proper sightseeing, See ya Miz."

[You as well]

Later Jayven left and started to take a look around the city. And unbeknownst to him someone is already looking at him badly.

-------Klein's side--------

"Damn to think that the general can jinx like this."

"Stop making jokes Klein, a lot of destruction is caused by them already. Can you please do your work?"

"But I am."

The conversation was then cut off as several enemies passed through their defense.

"There is no end to them, can't they just give me a break? I want to train my disciple quickly."

What happened was that during these past few weeks, the demon activists were continuously attacking their bases in multiple areas.

And because of this Klein and the other twelve pillars were sent to deal with the problem and hence the reason he was delayed.

As he was done with his current area another call came.

[Sir another one was spotted in this area.]

"Again? Why are they doing this as if they are all outgoing or something? Either way, I need to finish this fast."

Although he kept on complaining Klein moved fast as he tried to finish the task as early as possible. And as he was moving Chris who was with him asked.

"Oh, Klein Have you seen the Video Miz sent us?"

"Mm, yeah I watched it last break."

"He is improving fast huh."

"That was one crazy boost in strength. I didn't expect him to have a self-healing trait already."

"That was a good thing right?"

"Well, that made me waste the explosion gimmick I made."

"Don't be like that. Can't you see that he is doing his best?"

"Yeah, you're right. I guess it is just me being disappointed for a bit. Anyway, let's finish this and see for ourselves the growth he achieved."

-----At the demon activists' side at the Decagon City-----

[Everything is in order All the twelve Idiots are being occupied right now and as the high-ranking hunters and military officers they have.]

"Thank you, leader. We will not mess this up."

[You better use too many resources for this plan to be accomplished. Anyway, its reveal is almost there, just hold on and not waste this opportunity.]

"Yes sir. For the demon king we will be successful in this task, take the great artifact and be used by its rightful owner."

---------Grant currently at his penthouse------

"Hmm. To think he will be here. But that is just to be expected. This place holds a lot of great schools that can help in one's advancement."

"Young master, we have gathered the information about the boy."

"Okay, you may leave."

After the arrival of certain individuals, Grant started to look at the latest info about Jayven while telling them to leave him alone.

"I see he has a backing now. You got Lucky trash-ven. Seeing you just now might be fate telling me your days are numbered."

Grant started to contact a certain person and said.

"I want someone to take care of something for me." Like that Grant explained his requests.

[Oh, is there any background about the child you want me to hunt?]

"Nothing, he is just an orphan but now he has backing from an elderly couple. I want you to make him suffer."

[Yes, sir, consider it done.]

"Oh, Jayven this wouldn't have happened if you just stayed as little weak shit as you are. I am not avenging my henchmen or anything but I am glad to trash you right now."

"Young master, your father is calling you."

"What father is?"

"Yes, young master."

A few seconds later a projection of the mayor showed in front of Grant and he started to greet him.

[Son, how was your training?'

"Father, it is great ever since I met my master I have continuously gotten stronger and thanks to your resources I have Reached the 50 Attribute mark, with my INT as an exemption."

[That's good. I was sad that you were not able to reach the top ten. Hopefully, you will be successful this time.]

"Yes, Father, I will be admitted to Nine Paths and the preparations are ready."

[Also, it seems like you have a grudge you want to solve. Is it some strong rival?]

"No just some random weakling with a failure skill."

[Is that so? Oh well, the only thing you need to worry about now is to get accepted into a first-rate institution nothing else.]

"Yes, father."

[Mr. Mayor! A sudden yell was heard as a person came in.]

As he asked the man in question then whispered to his ears.

Hearing that his eyes widened and was delighted.

"Alright, father take care."

But right after Grant said goodbye to his father the mayor looked at him with a different cold than before and spoke.

[Also, my son doesn't disappoint me again.]

"Y-yes, Father."

After he left the boy clenched his fist and started a round of his training.

'I need to get stronger fast. I can't let this end like this. Being good enough is not enough. I need to do better, I need to be the best.'

With strong pressure from his hands, the target he was hitting was then blasted away.

'So that no one will look down on me again.'

----Jayven's training----

It has been three days and Jayven got familiarized fast with the environment in the city and was taking the time to train outside.

"Wow, that's a nice workout." Wiping his sweat, he had a sudden thought. "But to think those two would disguise their identity as an elderly couple I wonder why?"

Jayven's reaction was a state of confusion learning that he is being guardian by his master and Chris as an elderly couple.

The reason for that is because they didn't want anyone to know that I was trained by them. And also to camouflage him from certain jealousy.

"Well then since I am done, I need to return him."

After he was done training, he started to leave until a sudden beam of light struck the place. Later it became a portal symbolizing that the park had turned into a dungeon.

"What is this?"

Jayven was panicking as he realized that the place changed its atmosphere as everything was somehow dark. And if it wasn't for the illumination of certain items in the place then everything would have been worse.

Because of that, it didn't take long for Jayven to realize they were inside a dungeon.

"What the heck is happening?"

"This is a Dungeon transformation."

"You think I don't know what I want to know is why it happened here? Isn't this place protected from such a phenomenon?"

"You should know about this but the protection from dungeon transformation is 90 percent meaning there is a ten percent chance of it still happening."

"I know, I know but, I don't want to die."

Hearing that people started to panic as this phenomenon is something that has at least happened to this world for it seldom happens.

This phenomenon only occurs when there is a huge amount of mana gathering making a huge explosion of mana that transforms the surrounding area, changing it into a dungeon hence it is called the dungeon transformation phenomenon.

But although it is said that the mana explodes it doesn't mean that it can cause physical damage only changing the structure of the affected radius.

And right now, this happened in one of the safest cities in the world. What are the odds of it occurring in the safest place that has high protection against it and it having a low appearance?

There is nothing that can be said but this is one unlucky situation for Jayven and the people who are dragged into this.
