Chapter 58: Battling Against Phenex
Currently, outside the dungeon, two people are waiting outside for someone inside the dungeon.
"That guy is so lucky he got to raid a dungeon."
The man standing at the top of the rubble said as he had his halberd hanging at his shoulder as he shakes his head with regret.
"Stop being so jealous we all have our part in this. Him, being there is his fate so let him do his job."
As though reprimanding him the man beside who is currently petting a monster, reminded him what their goal was.
"Yeah, yeah, but the problem we have now is different though. We need to stop the news from spreading and we were barely able to stop these guys from reporting."
The man with the halberd said as he was pointing at the group of people in uniform as they were lying down on the ground unknown if they were alive or unconscious.
"Don't worry we will take care of them later, for now, we must wait."
"I guess you're right."
Ending the conversation, the two continued to wait as they guarded the place ready for the upcoming outcome.
Not knowing that among the people they took down one had their hand twitched which was a sign he was alive and was about to regain consciousness.
-----At the raiding group-----
The group who chooses to raid the place is gathered on the lower floor as they finally make more progress than they once did before.
"We are finally on the fifth floor."
"I hate to admit it but these guys acting as baits are quite good at doing their job."
"Yeah, if we had used those civilians, we would have taken a lot of time."
"That's right."
"True and if we keep it this way we can get to the final boss in no time."
As they were feeling comfortable with their situation one of their allies called out to them as he saw the monster's corpse
"Hey boss there's a dead monster here."
"What?"
"It's true and from the looks of it it's not from us."
"This is B rank monster, lucky." As the person said this he started examining the corpse for loot
"Where there an infighting between them."
"I don't know the dungeon has been a mystery to us even after the world was reclaimed."
As they were talking the person who started to examine the monster suddenly turned a sour face.
"This is bad."
"What is it?"
"There are people ahead of us."
"Huh? Are you sure?"
"That's impossible we are the only ones here."
"Look."
With no choice the group huddle around the monster to get a closer look, just to make sure if what their ally said was true or not.
Taking a look at the monster carcass they understood. The dead monster was a human's handy work as it was dismantled and had its important parts taken.
"This is not good. This happened for a while now they might already be ahead of us."
"Shit!"
"Who did this?"
"Maybe people from the association came."
"That's impossible they would save the civilians first before diving."
"Plus, the dungeon is locked until it is conquered or fully formed."
"But it's still possible to be them since they have artifacts to bypass this type of dungeon"
"We don't have time for this we need to move fast before our kill gets stolen."
"That's right there is no time to argue amongst ourselves, we can't let others take the first clear of this dungeon."
"Yeah, we can't let others get the labor of our hard work."
"So, we agreed on this. Everyone get your stuff ready we are diving down fast."
With that as the signal, the group started to clean up upon finding out about Jayven's leftover monster carcasses. This gives them a sense of urgency which makes them realize their situation and hurriedly set off to the next floor.
As this was going on the assassin Crazy Blade looked at the monster carcass then a thought came to mind. 'Is this the handiwork of those kids?' This was what was in its thoughts and thinking about their capabilities, especially Jayven he thought of it as impossible.
"Were they here?"
"Who was here?"
As he questioned himself the member of the demon activist heard of it and asked who he was referring to.
"Nothing." Shrugging it off he said it was nothing.
"You better tell me right now or else."
"Are you threatening me?"
"I am so what?"
"As much as I want to fight, I need to cover some tracks first."
"Heh, I guess the Crazy Blade lost his marbles after losing his prey."
"Shut it! "
"So, you did lose your prey you rusty blade."
"I said shut it."
The two made a face-off and looked at each other intimidatingly.
"What are you two doing get over here now!"
"I want to rip that guy's mouth but I guess we need to go."
"Tch."
"But you better tell what is going on here because if your prey touches one of our targets then I will handle him myself."
"You wouldn't need to because I will take care of it before you can even get to make a move."
After being called the two stopped their halted their arguments and during that time they left warnings to each other.

Flames surrounded the room, along with dust floating up high. Multiple sounds of explosions and earth crumbles can be heard.
The reason for this is the exchange of blows of the two people against each other. The burning bird Phenex flew up and down like a meteor and a human boy dodged those attacks as he gave his counter which sent the burning bird of course.
As time passed the human boy was unable to avoid the attack and took a direct hit making him stumble on the floor as he rolled and slammed to the wall.
"Gohoh kohoh, nngghh. T-that was b-brutal. Just a slight gaze and I get a burn effect my stamina and stats are going to be drained at this point."
After Jayven coughed a mouthful of blood from slamming on the wall, he took a glimpse of his stats.

'I guess I would be burning more of my stats for this fight.' As he said that a plan was then formulated in his head and with great determination, he decided to do a do-or-die approach.
'This would be the first time I would be using this and I received a warning from Miz that if I need to have a year's worth of experience to use this. If not, I would take a huge amount of side effects upon its execution. but I guess I can't choose to be picky at the moment.'
Although difficult he stood up as he already made up his mind and he then looked straight up to his enemy.
As though he answered his challenge the Phenex looked back at him and spoke.
{You are one tenacious guy, then again, I am still far from recovering my strength. So, if this is your final struggle make it worthwhile.}
"No, it won't be."
{Heh, why is that is that?}
"Because it's you who is going to be the one who will struggle."
Hearing that the phenex let out a peal of laughter that resounded throughout the cave, one that resembles a child's innocence along with its pride and confidence.
After having a good laugh, the Phenex looked back at Jayven and with it's flame flickering with a strong gait he said.
{Are you going to make use of the fatigue penalty? Unlucky for you human that won't work since I am the owner of this dungeon, I have this place as my power source!}
"Of course, I know that, so this is going to be different. Because what I am going to do will make sure that your downfall is secured."
{What an amusing choice of words. But what makes you say that?}
As he asked this question Jayven started gathering mana and used the ether gems Ether reserves making it flow through his body.
Then Jayven declared. "This does."
Then he enhanced his body with Ether other than Mana.
