Chapter 59: Conclusion From Battling the Phenex
After guiding the Ether throughout his body Jayven felt even more power. Which made him ready for the next round of the battles.
And upon noticing the Ether circulating in Jayven's body the Phenex was shocked that it couldn't understand how it was possible
{Ether? But that's impossible This world has no ounce of ether in this it's environment and if it does then I would also have one since I too once had it even if it is just a small amount.}
So, denying Jayven's words, the Phenex made its conclusion.
{To think the humans of today can use ether. No, you are part demon it might be a legacy of the demon race.}
"You are wrong this is what we humans are currently able to achieve. Correcting the Phenex conjunction Jayven said that this was what the humans are now capable of doing."
{Impossible this could only be accomplished if you have-. No, you do have it. An Ether medium. Why didn't I notice it before?}
Noticing the medium on Jayven's neck the Phenex then laughed at its own stupidity for not noticing earlier.
{Ahahaha, So, what if you have that you still haven't formed a core yet once all those Ethers are used up then it will be your doom.}
Declaring so the Battle ensued between the two as Jayven also said his piece.
"That is if you defeat me, but from the looks of it. It's my win!"
As the Phenex continued its previous attack Jayven gave it a huge blow as the two met.
"Gahah!"
But the Phenex didn't let itself get caught as it exploded which Stunned Jayven but thanks to his current resistance due to the usage of Ether the damage was minimal.
Still, when Jayven gained his footing he noticed that the Phenex had changed it's tactics as it multiplied beyond his imagination.
{Let's see if you can spot the real me human.} As it said that the clones burst forth and slammed on Jayven, in which they exploded upon contact.
But utilizing his mana intent and techniques he was able to offset the impact with his own. However, he still got hit by them as they were numerous, which didn't happen for long as he was able to gradually get used to it.
Thanks to his senses he was able to locate their attacks and was able to dodge on time. And thanks to this he noticed their differences.
"So that is the real one huh? Not letting himself get caught from realizing that he already knew the original Phenex, Jayven let himself get hit to create an opening."
Seeing this the real one dived to attack amongst the crowd of clones It created. And when it got close enough Jayven made a move that caught the Phenex off guard.
Using his Vice grip strength, he got hold of the Phenex. Realizing it was already caught the Phenex made another last-ditch effort to obliviate Jayven by letting all of its clones attack at the same time as it also let itself explode like last time.
But not having any of it Jayven used the Phenex as his shield to let it take its own attacks while he was facing the direct explosion from Phenex's own self-destruction.
Even so, he didn't let it go as he gripped on its neck even as his arms were burning as red as a burning charcoal.
Not long after all the clones were gone and with his remaining strength, he slammed Phenex to the ground taking its last remaining Life force and signaling his win an announcement was made in his mind.
[Great achievement has been accomplished. Phenex Dungeon has been cleared. Recovering the conquerors half of the strength wasted before entering]
As the message declared Jayven has conquered the dungeon. And with it, Jayven recovered the strength he used before entering the boss room.
In actuality, dungeons have many types of rewards and compensation during or after fighting the boss. And what Jayven received is the aftermath meaning Jayven can recover most of the strength that he used.
{To think I would lose to a human and especially to one that hasn't undergone tribulations, what has the world become?}
"See that I won."
{True but If I have my full strength then you are nothing, I guess this is fate I am now under your care. Hopefully, you will fulfill the lost promise.}
"What a sore loser. But what is that lost promise?"
{It is to become a divine artifact. Like I said before I was made from the parts of a Phoenex and was made to become a divine artifact but instead, I became a cursed artifact that brings misfortune to its owner.}
"I see, I can't promise you that I can accomplish it but I will try."
{That's enough, thank you although you only have a tiny piece of his blood, I hope you will honor it. I will be in your care master.}
As though its role was finished the Phenex shined brightly and what came out of it was a piece of red clothing.
"What is this is it some sort of Cloth? Wait I think I heard it before. The demon kind's equipment has certain parts that clothing like a cloth but what weirdly brings in every battle is a burning red flag."
Remembering what this flag was Jayven started to remember what this represents. A flag that raises the capabilities of the soldiers. It was one of the most needed artifacts due to it giving the target resilience and increase in healing abilities.
But like every other cursed artifact, it has a drawback, but the only known negative it has is that it eats the target's stamina for the increase of recovery and boost of strength.
"Either way, I can't use this as a flag maybe a scarf would do better. But for now, let's tie this on my waist."
After tying it down mana started to be absorbed by red clothing which Jayven didn't notice. And following that another message was shown to him.
[Dungeon ownership has been confirmed choose the next action.]
"Oh, I remember this once the dungeon master is defeated one can own the dungeon. This is also one of the reasons why many want the first clear they can use the dungeon as their source of income."
But there are actually two choices that have popped up. This is the norm since these choices impact the economy and geography of the world.

Seeing this Jayven had to think deeply about what to do. And as he was thinking of this a voice suddenly interrupted his thoughts.

"Woah where was that?"

Then he took a look at the red clothing that was tied on his waist and asked.
"This Cloth?"
{Yes, master. It's me}
"Phenex?"
{Yes.}
After having confirmed the identity of the voice Jayven sighed in relief.
"Is that so? That gave me a heart attack but why are you still able to have your consciousness even though you are an item now?"
Because you haven't made a choice yet once you made a choice I will then take a deep slumber since the ownership has been rebuked.
"I see. I understand now. But I was surprised you know"
{Sorry didn't mean to do that.}
"And your tone changed?"
"That's normal since I didn't acknowledge you back then."
"I guess your right. But for now, let's assess my situation and look at my stats."
