Chapter 69: The Day Of The Application Test

Having left the place Klein and Chris soared as they flew on Kreg. And as though she was making sure Chris talked to Klein about the content of Jayven's participation in the match next year.

"I guess you are serious about this bet huh?"

"Well, it was somewhat fun, I guess. Also, it is a good way for the kids to grow. Who knows they might work together one day."

"I guess that's true a little competition won't be so bad. But why did you let him focus on his stats being lowered? You can let him grow right?"

"Well, I just thought it would be good for him if he grew his strength when he was still able to control it."

"What do you mean?"

"You know. He is still a student and growing in the academy requires challenge if he goes way above his peers then where is the sense of competition?"

"That's not the only reason, right?"

"Yes, because I would also like him to not become one of those who solely rely on stats."

"As expected, you don't want him to become like those who forget the fundamentals and just focus on brute force ways huh?"

"Yeah, after all, I almost led to that path if not for Master's guidance, then I will be one of those who will reach their limit fast."

"You are still hung up on that loss."

Seeing her smile Klein just turned his head and continued to speak.

"Well, that was in the past as long as he can produce results then I can let him raise his stats that's all."

"Yeah, you're right for now we just need to wait and see how he is going to make use of the opportunities that are laid down for him."

As she said that Klein remained quiet but if one looked closer, they could see his mouth rising as he anticipated what would his disciple be in the Future.

---------Days Later the Day of the Application test--------

A few days later the application test for the academy began and the day became early for those who wanted to apply for the school.

After getting his preparation ready Jayven then got up early to take the first day of the application test. So, getting his stuff ready he said goodbye to Miz as he was about to leave the Maze mansion.

Walking out of the mansion Jayven started to commute arriving at the entrance of the Nine Paths academy.

The place was huge which can be seen from the outside the huge gate. And as it symbolized nine colors are flowing from a Fox-like creature.

The color represents the color of a rainbow with the addition of white and black from both ends of the color. These colors represent each Category the academy focuses on.

"The nine tails huh?"

Jayven exclaims as he is looking at the huge gate with a fox image and rainbow-colored tail. A group who seemed to be fellow applicants were talking something about the academy's background.

"Too bad this place was once part of the great schools of the world until the start of its decline."

"Oh yeah, why is that?"

"It is said that this place was abandoned by the founder leaving everything for it to ruin on its own."

"Yeah, I heard that too."

"But I also heard that the other reason is because their main force before every tournament gets poached every time."

"That might also be one of the reasons."

"But you can't deny they have great equipment and facilities they had. So, those who get in are successful in their future even if they change schools in the middle of it."

"Yeah, I wonder if I can be lucky too, and get a sponsor before graduating."

"I hope so too. And I really would like to wish for the busty mature kind hehehehe."

"Wow, that's too much of a wish, right?"

"I agree as well."

"Shut up anyone can dream, right?"

"Whatever. All I want is to become a great hunter and get rich fast."

"Aren't we all?"

"Then you guys better work hard. I heard that in the application test for the new student there is a hidden test that is involved so there is a chance that you guys will fail."

"What? That's crazy."

"Hey! How come you are pointing at us? Aren't you in the same boat?"

"Yeah, that's right what gives you the confidence."

"You guys have lower scores than me who is a genius we are not the same."

With that, the boy walked out leaving behind his friends.

Not knowing that teachers were observing their conversation.

"I like that kid's guts who is he?"

"Oh him, he is….." then a teacher read his documents as he informed the other teachers about the confident applicant.

The reason for them knowing the students before they could apply is simple, they receive their information from their previous school beforehand.

Those who want to enter a certain School after graduating high school would send in advance their application form to take the test which would be verified by the school they would apply in almost instantly.

One could also Apply to multiple schools given that they could take the application test on time. This is in preparation if they fail the test from the first school of choice.

So, applicants mostly take multiple tests for this. And Jayven is no exception as he would also try to take another school application test once he failed this one.

The only good thing is that the tests have a duration of a week for every school for them to take. So even if the schedule overlapped as long as they are there on one of the days it was held, they can get in.

After all A single test can be taken in a single day one of the most important parts is that during the test. There is a limit to getting in and an exact time limit to enter once you can get in on time you would have to take the next

If the venue is full then take the one the next day, which rarely happens since the venue of the exam of a school can take up to about a thousand students who are going to apply on the same day.

~~~~~~~~~~
Having arrived at the venue Jayven followed the line to lead inside and not long after he was finished registering.
So, following the instructions of the staff Jayven and the other students arrived at their designated room and there they waited for their proctor to arrive.
Then moments later a man entered the place as he was carrying his tablet on his shoulder and arriving at the front desk, he looked at the students.
"Welcome everyone to this application test. As you might know, our test can also be used as a basis for what school you can take."
The proctor then showed the ranking and points for the test.
"As you can see we can only accommodate 1000 students it may seem many but that is the maximum each first-rate school can open for all and a reason."
He then stated the reason for the low number.
"One because one needs to reach the top 100 in their region, second Following that. The test results need to be at a certain percentage for you to be accepted into our school."
Then he also said some other alternatives which are known to everyone.
"But if you get lower you can pass your test results to another school and see if you can be accepted. This also applies to those who got here through certain means. If that's clear then we shall start"
Not being subtle he started to show the students the venue for the test. But it was clear to see the effect of his words on the applicants.
"I need to get in here."
"Why?"
"Because getting means you have an 80% chance of forming an ether core."
"Yeah, I heard that too but that's just them being modest they can the average of all first-rate schools is 90%."
"That's crazy how about the second-rate ones and third-rate ones?"
"Theirs are the worst the second rate has only a 60% chance of forming Ether core for every graduate."
"That's tough. "
"What about the third-rate one?"
"They get half the percentage of the second-rate ones."
"What 30%?"
"That's what most says but in reality, it is said to be much lower than that since they get their resources annexed by second-rate school or sometimes first-rate ones."
"That's evil."
"But I think that's possible since this is a dog-eat-dog situation right now."
"Yeah, especially with those demon activists attacking."
"Oh Yeah, they became active a few months ago, right?"
"That's right, they did."
"But hey, what about the top ten schools?"
"They are 99% if not 100, right?"
"No, it is not actually that different since accidents happen it is 97 to 98 percent of them can successfully form a core."
"That's how hard it is to form a core.
"That's nuts."
Seeing the students not listening to him anymore he clapped his arms hard creating a shock wave that forced the students to cover their ears.
Enough, yapping and listen up.
