Chapter 70: Start Of The Application Test

After gaining their attention, the Proctor continued.

"Since you all passed the national exam you guys only have to take one test and that is your profession-type test, it is based on what your course will be."

He then pointed at the three doors and explained further to them what it was for.

"There are three types of tests you can take in this corresponds to your main course although you have already passed. But this Is different since we are examining what you are currently able to do, we can give you exact feedback once we are done analyzing your abilities which usually takes a day or a few more before the school year starts."

Then as he said that we were then given a piece of paper to write on.

Here right the question provided and we will set the test for you based on what you have written and the past actions and results you have.

And with that as the start, everyone wrote what they needed to. After Jayven and the other applicants were done writing they passed our papers to the protector.

What he did then was put it in a machine, moments a holographic screen popped up for them to see. There everyone can see their names and the profession they chose but near it, a recommended profession was also given.

"Now then we will divide you into your corresponding profession. As you can see here on this screen are your name and affiliation you guys chose so, please enter the room in order you are called."

As he said that the wall in the room transformed and three doors were open for us to use.

"Each room will have one applicant since we have at least till the end of the day and you are all 50 students here you all have 10 minutes to accomplish the task given to you."

The protector then gave us all an armed ban with a timer on it.

"Here once you get in the ten-minute countdown will start either you finish the task before the allotted time or you run out of time is up to what you are capable of. And as you can see there are also recommendations for you to take if ever you change your mind, you can take the other ones."

After the armbands were distributed the proctor started calling for the applicants one by one in order.

"Alright now that everything is in order, I will start calling for the applicants that will go in. Well then Come here Applicant Number..."

It was unknown how they did things inside the door since once they got inside the tests started and when they were done the proctor would tell them they were done then he would call for the next applicant to go in.

So, once they are over; with their test, they will be sent to the other side of the room so the one who makes it and those who won't become a mystery to others. Unless they are also done with their own.

This continued on for about two hours and more than half of the applicants were called. And when the next batch were called out Jayven's name was amongst the three.

"Now then the three of you can enter when you are ready."

'It is my turn I need to relax and finish this task with flying colors.'

Jayven took a deep breath and raised his foot to step in the door.

Upon entering Jayven saw the room and was surprised by its intricate design which would make one think that there were no traps inside.

But due to Jayven's heightened senses, he knows otherwise and the place is riddled with it.

'This is somehow similar to the Maze Mansion although it seems normal this is anything but that.'

Then with a beep a holographic screen was shown to him and there was the task that he was supposed to accomplish.

[Find your way inside the Maze and defeat the boss. Timer starts in 3…...2...1…...GO!]

Once the timer resounded the armband on Jayven started to countdown.

So, with light steps, Jayven started to sprint as he navigated the place.

~~~~Judge Room for the Professors~~~~~
In certain rooms where there are a lot of holographic images, many teachers are looking at the students.
And were examining their capabilities as well as talking about their weaknesses and strengths. And with it, they talk to their colleagues about their views on this.
"There are a lot of promising students this year."
"You're right I was surprised by their capabilities can you imagine they finished their tasks within a short amount of time span?"
"Hey, what about the auxiliary types? Cat you guys see how they were able to create those amazing gimmicks some were also new ways of approach like that guy look he turned the metal into soft materials. And from what I can see the hardness didn't face away instead, it melded with it making it more immune to soft impacts."
"Well, if you say that then look at this child, she isn't even blinking an eye no matter how many failures she got instead she kept on improving."
"You're right is it her first time making that potion?"
"I believe so this is already her fifth try and I think- Oh! She did it to think she could make a potion she just saw with only her fifth try."
"That's not bad."
"Look that kid is amazing."
"Where?"
"Oh, isn't that the confident kid before?"
"He really is not just talking he was able to pass the obstacles quite fast he is already in the boss's room."
"Well now that is the hard part, I hear the boss has the capability of B rank fighter."
"That's okay because this is just an assessment once they show certain amounts of skills, they can overcome the challenge against it."
"Yeah, it is designed to lower its combat standards for every 30 seconds that have passed that the applicant is in."
"So, the only way to win this is by having more time huh?"
"Well, that's how it is."
As they were looking and commenting about the students. One of them who seems to be a senior was looking at the video in front of him with a frown.
Seeing this one of their seniors frowning a junior asked the reason curious why he was frowning.
"Sir, why are you frowning?"
So not being able to hold back his curiosity one of the junior professors asked the frowning if there was something wrong. To which he replied.
"Nothing really, I am just annoyed."
"About what?"
"That kid. Even though he already reached the boss's room he kept on testing other passages is he stupid or what? What's more, I can see that he clearly is reaching the limit of what he is capable of."
Hearing that he looked at the screen and there Jayven was seen to have been moving at a fast rate as if he was looking for something.
"I don't think he is out of breath though. And from the looks of it, he is energetic."
"That's not it. What I meant is that his talent is at its limits, he is a useless student not worth teaching."
"Then why are you looking at this punk?"
An elderly woman then passed by looking at him and spoke as though she was fed up with his complaints.
"Tch, what do you know I need to see the flaws of all students although he is at his maximum capacity of what he could do it is clear that he will be a student in our school based on his capabilities shown. But in the end, he will be dragged down by his peers due to the absurdity of their difference in talent."
"I can see that and I agree with you. But not all are like that he might be a late bloomer if not he is somewhat like a wild card, you know like last time."
"Shut up That time was different and even if he is a late bloomer what we need are the results during their academy years not after".
"But in the end, they are still students. And you can't change that."
"Hmph anyways this is annoying too since he is wasting his time. Five minutes had already passed if he went to the boss's room now, he would be lucky if he had three minutes to spare."
"I hate to admit it but I do hope this kid realizes this as well."
Seeing the interaction of the two elder seniors the professor who established the conversation just shrugged it off and continued to look at the other students as he took one last glance at Jayven's performance. And thought.
'Poor kid once he is discovered by these two strict professors he is done for. Either he will quit or change the program that's the only choice he has now.'
Feeling sorry the professor just shook his head and continued to look at the other students' performance.
