Old Chang's Revenge.

(I can't believe my luck.) Alex looked up at the sky, spotting golden energy gathering to form a golden dragon.

"Stay here, young one. Don't move," the elder instructed, flying upwards with a stern expression that showed clear displeasure.

"I can't believe they dared to invade us," Yin Xiu seethed, her anger palpable. The sect was among the strongest across the entire continent.

She expected that Demonic Cultivators might propose a truce, avoiding their interference to let smaller sects battle. This would prevent thoughts of an all-out war from resurfacing. However, they not only disregarded the truce but began fighting outright.

"Why aren't you going up, Big Sister Yin?" Alex inquired.

"Why? Do you want me to get hurt?" Yin Xiu chuckled.

Alex appeared uneasy as he explained, "(This fucker oh my god) Of course not. I just thought a strong person like you, Senior Sister Yin, would be a valuable asset in the battle."

"Haha, I know what you mean. But..." She sighed, continuing, "I'm not as strong as you think. I've barely reached the peak of the Soul Gathering Level. I'd like to fight, but as a Supreme Elder, I'd be the youngest and least experienced against those bastards who've lived for thousands of years." She tried to explain, she also very much wanted to fight but difference between someone that lived for that long was great, for example if you lived for thousand years and saw many battles, you would see through someone's mistakes in their style instantly, that would be big advantage towards your fight, very few geniuses could ignore this rule, it was absolute.

"I see..." Alex clicked his tongue, wanting to leave but unable to disobey orders. He knew he had to stay.

---

Thirty minutes later, annoyance took over Alex.

"Hey, Big Sister, can you do me a favor?" he asked politely.

"Want me to do more for you?" Yin Xiu responded nonchalantly.

("(Shut the fuck up)") Alex internally grumbled, apologizing for asking too much. "But can we please go out? There's likely a strong enemy fighting in the sky. It'd be a great learning opportunity. What do you say?"

Yin Xiu's personality baffled him. Arrogant? Prideful? Cold? He'd never encountered someone so bipolar.

"Hmm... I guess you're right, but I can't defy Elder's orders," she replied, sounding proud of it.

"(Ugh...) Please? i mean imagine, i want to get stronger Senior Sister Yin, but i can't do that just by learning techniques, i need to have battle experience, Enemy in the sky seems unbealivebly powerful as so many Elder Auras has been detected by us, they must be goinf up, if it needs elders that many of them it must be extremely strong person, to see such a persom fight it would give me so much experience." Alex's patience wore thin, his lips twitching in frustration.

"Alright." Yin Xiu held his hand and flew up, she wanted to decline but as she saw Alex'es face she decided it was okay.

("(YES!!!)") Alex cheered inwardly, asking if they could get closer.

"You want your personal flying service?" Yin Xiu chuckled.

("(I'm going to lose it.)") "Please?" Alex pleaded.

"I get it, you're worried. I'll fly you closer," Yin Xiu said, laughing, and ascended. in the sky there was many auras, many people were observing from down bellow, they wanted to see who the person was that dared to invade the sect, he must have is very strong very brave or very stupid, most people thought, nobody in the past dared to invade the sect like this and it was just one man at that, everyone wanted to see who this was. but aura was so strong they could not seem to see through it... only person they could see were the Elders that flew up for the fight, and even they were blurred in their eyes. it was a weird fight.

---

In the sky.

Elders stood in formation, observing someone calmly facing them.

"So, you've returned," the elder who had spoken to Alex earlier addressed the figure, sadness evident in his gaze.

"Hello, Distinguished Father," Old Chang greeted.

Gasps resounded among the elders. They looked at Old Chang, then at the elder, noting the similarities.

"Quiet," Grand Elder Bai Chen hushed them.

"Why have you come back, Golden Slayer Huanglong?" Elder Bai inquired.

"To take revenge, after all these years," Old Chang declared, his hands opening.

A golden aura enveloped him.

"Why would we have a grudge against you?" Elder Bai asked.

"Nothing against the sect, but I have a bone to pick with the Sect Master. Bring him out," Old Chang demanded, his expression serious.

"Why do you care about Gol— Gagggh gagggh gaggh," Elder Bai choked.

Golden energy erupted.

"I have nothing to say to an old man like you. Get your Sect Master or I'll raze this sect to the ground," Old Chang threatened.

"You... broke through to the Quasi-Ascendant Level?" Elder Bai exclaimed, astonished.

"Indeed. Now, get your Sect Master," Old Chang demanded.

Elder Bai sighed, "I see it now... as I thought, you were the most talented person in the sect. So talented, just as your mother predicted. You know... since you left, she hasn't left her room. She... she embraced the Demonic path of cultivation. I should have intervened when you traded your mind for power, giving it away to a Demon. I should have stopped you—"

Old Chang interjected with a bitter laugh. "Hah... hah... hah... hah... hah... HAHAHAHAHAHA! Save me, Old Man Bai? Save me? You should've saved my family. You were an Overlord, for crying out loud! You could've teleported to save my... my... my..." He clenched his teeth. "My precious reason for living, Little Jin, and my precious flower, Huang Mei. But..." He glared at his father with resentment. "You did nothing. You wanted me to realize who held absolute control! Now get your leader out of here!"

An explosion of golden aura burst forth, shrouding every elder and person in the sect, forcing them to look up.

A spiraling energy, like a decision of fate, descended upon them, casting judgment over the sect.
