Nicholas straightened his tie, momentarily lost in thought after Mike's departure. He stared out the expansive windows of his office, the city sprawled out before him like a concrete jungle.

Mike's words echoed in his mind: "gear up." He knew Mike was right. Kimberly Campbell was a force to be reckoned with. He had learned that much from all his interactions with her.

She was an unyielding force. Stubborn in every way, challenging at the slightest provocation. Sometimes she didn't even need to be provoked. She just launched out at her opponent and she was drew blood with every attack.

His lips twitched when he remembered what Mike had said about the drama in the elevator.

The thought of Kimberly, standing tall and defiant in the elevator, played on repeat in his mind. He couldn't deny a flicker of grudging respect for the way he had heard she'd handled the gossipmongers.
