Piling Lies

Kimberly was restless, her mind overwhelmed by all that was going on at the moment. The guilt, the lies, her life felt bamboozled in a way it had never been before.

One stupid, silly, drunken mistake made at a moment of weakness seems to have unleashed a chaotic chain of reactions that was plunging her life into a shady mess.

She had asked Nicholas for a favor, something she had never thought possible, and not only had she done that — swallowed her pride, she was currently lying to every important person in her life.

"Hello, Kim. Kim are you there?" The sharp call of Caroline's voice snapped her out of her thought and reverted her attention to the number she had dialled.

With a sigh, she brought the phone to her ear. "I'm sorry. I didn't know you've answered." She apologized.

"It's been over thirty seconds. What were you thinking about?" It was unusual to have Kimberly that distracted from anything, not even from a call.
