Confrontation

Nicholas returned from Kimberly's office, a smile lighting up his face after delivering her lunch. He still couldn't believe he has done that.

His steps were light as he made his way down the corridor, feeling a warmth in his chest from their brief but pleasant interaction. Her surprise upon seeing he had brought her lunch etched in his memory.

It was strange how he was enjoying his recent interactions with her. Since their date, she seemed more relaxed, more receptive towards him, and he'd say less consumed by worries. And he dared say that because the stiffness and the taut lines were suddenly absent.

However, as he stepped into his office, his tranquility was abruptly shattered. Paul stormed in, his face contorted with anger.

"Paul? What can I do for you?" Nicholas asked, surprised.

"What the hell do you think you're doing with Kimberly?" Paul demanded, his voice a harsh whisper that nonetheless carried the weight of his fury.
