They eventually arrived at another location, this time devoid of tents, food, or the van parked at the side. However, a Jeep was in its place, and fortunately, there were still a few animals they could hunt for food. Dr. Vicks had designed it this way to ensure their survival, or at least they had hoped so.

But their situation was dire; both Asiris and Caville were possibly captured, and they were left with nowhere to turn.

“Maybe they managed to escape,” Peter ventured, a glimmer of hope in his words.

Rain poured outside, and the group huddled in a cave with enough firewood to keep them warm and safe for a while.

“I imagined this would be a lot easier,” Micah confessed. “I never thought I’d find myself in a situation like this.”

“I’m pretty sure none of us did,” Vienne added. “Yet, here we are.”
