Towards the Enemy

The atmosphere in the underground facility was tense as everyone congregated downstairs, with the exception of Dr. Vicks, who remained inside, accompanying the team. The imminent escort was set to commence in just five minutes, and uncertainty hung in the air.

Dr. Vicks, a charismatic and slightly eccentric figure, addressed the group with a mixture of excitement and confidence. "Alright, y'all ready?" he inquired, his eyes alight with enthusiasm. "I certainly hope so, because I most certainly am."

Xavier, a member of the team with a sharp tongue and a penchant for sarcasm, couldn't resist a sardonic remark. "Figures," he hissed, casting a sidelong glance at Vienne and Iris. There was an unspoken tension between the two women, one that Xavier keenly observed and strangely enjoyed. "By the way, we've got our own vehicle."
