Chapter 55: Learning Issues

"What's two plus two?" I asked, raising two fingers from each hand for emphasis.

"Four!"

"That's right!" Sil said, smiling. He glanced at me. "Right?"

"Yeah," I said, smiling as Kikiyo started to get a hang of things. Counting really helped. Although, we had to use peaches instead of apples for the numbers higher than ten.

Was she really a slow learner or were the tutors Kaze hired not equipped to deal with her style of learning? Not everyone learned the same. While I excelled at book learning, big brother was more of the hands on type. The guy had to touch and listen to the piano to play it. Trying to teach him musical notes was like trying to teach a dog math.

"Madame Rosemary, I bring you and the children some snacks," a maid said, walking into the room. She rolled in a cart with a sandwich platter.

"Oh, boy! Snack time!" Kikiyo said, getting up and running over to the maid.
