The sound of shuffling alerted my ears.

"Setsuka, you're finally back? You had me worried, dear," a voice called out.

A red-haired woman walked out of the living room. In her hands was my slumbering three-month-old son. Although, guess he was four months old now.

"Oh, Gael? What are you doing here?" She stared at Milo and Koyuki. "Where's Setsuka?" Her hands trembled. After losing her husband, she'd been uneasy about Setsuka's line of work.

"She's in the hospital," Milo blurted out.

"She's fine, though," I said, walking over and taking my slumbering son from her.

My mother-in-law frowned as color returned to her face. "Why? What happened?"

I explained to her what happened in the cavern.

"I see." She smiled slightly. "At least she's okay."
