"Master, I could've continued fighting!" Terrance said as I put him down on the ground.

I sighed. "Look at you. Your breathing is heavy."

He lowered his head and curled his hands into fists. "Still. Isn't a warrior supposed to die fighting?"

I shook my head. "Your ancestors were warriors. You're a servant, not a warrior. Regardless, you live and die for your master, simple as that. And right now, I rather keep you alive."

He grunted. "But...if I can't help you, then what good am I? I'm useless."

"Not quite. You may not have been able to defeat them, but you slowed them down."

Terrance stared at the black floor for a bit. "You're after something other than just fun, correct?"

I smirked slightly. "A smart one, I see. I thought you were just some muscle headed brat, but it seems you have a brain in there somewhere."

He didn't say a thing, just staring at the floor.
