I raised my head as the ground trembled. An earthquake? We didn't usually have quakes in these parts. They were more typical in the west in Mizu no Kin and in the south around the capital. And those quakes didn't tend to reach this far due to soil preventing the distribution of vibrations. But it did translate to worse quakes when they did happen.

I put down my stuff and rushed out. Hopefully Bastian and the girls were fine.

"Gael," Setsura said, glancing at me.

She nodded and glanced at the house which shook uneasily. Strangely, the house stopped shaking and loud bangs could be heard from above like the roar of an airplane engine.

"That quake just now," Milo said as he walked toward us with a bag full of bread. He stared at the ground and furrowed his brow.

"Do you know what caused it?" Setsura asked.
