I glared at him. "Saf isn't pathetic, you are!" I blurted out without meaning too.

He laughed. "And he married and equally pathetic woman."

Kine pressed him further into the wall. "Don't you dare insult either one of them, you piece of trash. Now, tell me why you're here and why you attacked her? Was it a vendetta against Saffron?"

Rodrigo spat. "It was nothing personal. Merely following orders."

The Major furrowed his brows. "From who?"

He turned away. "I won't speak. Not to scum like you."
