After finishing up my domain training, Koyuki and Milo bid goodbye and headed back to the latter's place, leaving me alone with Rose.

I decided to take another shower. This time, Rose was actually asleep.

I smiled slightly at her sleeping face. She reminded me again of when we were Sil's age.

Feeling myself drawn to her, I walked over and leaned in to give her a kiss, but I stopped myself. She was asleep. It was best not to kiss her while she wasn't awake. Rose might've been my wife, but there were still certain boundaries.

I sighed as Koyuki's words echoed in my head. Rose wanted to spend more time with me, but her health and my constant training kept getting in the way.

As I stripped down to bathe, I caught a glimpse of myself in the bathroom mirror. My body was a map of battle scars, each one a hallmark of the countless missions I'd been through and survived to live the tale.
