I smiled as I heard my grandbaby and the other kids giggling upstairs. It sounded like when Milo would make my Sil and Alli giggle a lot. Wouldn't be surprised if my nephew was the one behind the laughter.

It was heartwarming to hear such joy filling the house, especially after everything that had happened.

As I stood at the kitchen sink, washing greens for lunch, I glanced out the window to catch a glimpse of the garden. The vibrant colors of the flowers always brought a sense of peace to my heart. But today, something caught my eye. There was a figure standing by the oak tree just outside, partially obscured by its thick branches.

My heart skipped a beat, and a shiver ran down my spine. There was something unsettling about the way the figure stood there, motionless and silent. I leaned closer to the window, trying to get a better look, my instincts kicking in.
