"CARL!" (I changed style) I called out to my assistant. I had asked him for news on Marvel and DC but he's still not given me anything yet. Well, it partially may be caused due to the fact that I have put too much workload on him and I should probably get him some help but who wants to waste money on that?
It's been two days since my fateful 'meeting' with Nolan brothers and I still haven't gotten a reply yet, but I believe that I will hear from them sooner or later.
In the meantime, I have turned my attention to acquiring several famous IPs from my past life. Strangely, Warner Brothers have the successful IP of X-Men. I believe this is the cause of my transmigration.
Marvel is close to bankruptcy and to make ends meet, they sold the movie adaptation rights of the their most famous hero, Spiderman to Sony. So they up there in the 'Famous future IPs' for a buyout. I would have made my move to Marvel if I didn't know about DC's condition.
They used to be very successful during the 90s but they soon went into a decline due to flop movie adaptations. Till 1995, DC Comics and Fox used to collaborate on movies like Batman and Superman but after 1990, their combined projects failed and unable to bear losses, Fox canceled the collaboration.
This left DC Comics in a dire financial state and I, had the intention of exploiting it.
"I have prepared the reports on DC and Marvel as you asked sir." Carl didn't look healthy. Dark bags under his eyes, pale skin, thinning body, maybe I have overworked him too much.
"You may rest now Carl, I will think about getting a secretary soon." I said taking the reports from him. Carl's face brightened after hearing about getting a helper. After Carl went to get some rest, I looked at the reports he had prepared.
It mainly contained information about the current state of DC and Marvel and the latest financial report. It didn't look good to me.
Reading the reports, I had two options left. Either I buy them directly or I buy their famous superheroes. They would have more reluctance to selling their heroes, especially Marvel who had already lost X-Men and now Spider-Man, so the only sensible thing to do was buying them directly and taking on their debts.
But is it financially feasible?
I may be a billionaire but such matters still require weeks of detailed investigation by the CAs and whatnot and I don't like to waste time.
So I can only ask my accountant Wayne(not Bruce) for advice.
