Pokemon: Humans And Monsters Alike

The group turns to the daycare attendants to ask about the egg.

Old Lady: We don't know what could be wrong with that egg. That man just ran in here and started rambling about it being cursed.

Old Man: He looked like he ran through a mine field before he got here. There had to have been something wrong with that man.

Quil: That doesn't make sense. When we had the egg it's not like anything bad happened to us.

Bay: Wait, do you think the egg might have been the reason we lost the Pokédex? Think about it, we bumped into Silver for the first time when we had the egg.

Roco: I mean that's probably a coincidence. A cursed egg doesn't really make sense.

Quil: Either way, Professor trust us with the egg so we might as well see what happens.

Quil gives Roco the egg as they exit the daycare and walk into the spectacular Goldenrod City. They see the gym at the far end of the city, but as usual, the gym is currently closed.

Roco: Why are the gym leaders always out when we want to fight them? They really should get better at doing their job.

Bay: As per usual we have a bunch of time to kill. I want to evolve before we challenge this gym too so I'll be out training.

Eli: I'll head to the department store. I'm trying to find a specific item and they should have it.

Roco: I'll go too, I want some snacks.

They walk off, leaving just Quil and Gol.

Quil: I guess it's just us left, what do you want to do-

A man riding a bike throws a flyer into Quil's face. On the flyer, it advertises a competition being held in the National Park just past route 35.

Quil: Bug Catching Contest? Eh, might as well, not like I can go hang out with my friends right now.

When he arrives at the park, he sees five men dragging a Scyther girl out of the park.

Scyther Girl: Let go of me! I didn't break your stupid rules!

Man: You can't use the park as a training ground! We're about to start the Bug Catching Contest and can't have you taking out all the bugs!

Scyther Girl: I was just, practicing for the contest! Yeah, there's nothing wrong with that!

Man: Then come back when the contest has started!

They throw her out and slam the gate behind her.

Scyther Girl: I swear those guys will rue the day they decided to mess with me. What are you staring at kid?
