Abandoned

Elvira and her friends led the way ahead.

How they had gotten to our house so fast, I had no idea.

My head was still wrapped around what I had heard between mother and Papa.

Aine.

Who is Aine? Was she a member of our house? And why hasn't I ever heard of her?

Why did mother call me a human?

It wasn't possible.

The humans were extinct. I didn't attend school but from what I had heard, from what I had read, the humans had been punished for their active part in the great plague.

After the war all the humans had been wiped out from the face of the earth.

They didn't exist anymore.

Even though that I believed that what King Mauri, the human king who had caused the war had done was evil, it baffled me that the other humans were all punished.

Surely there were some innocent ones too.

Maybe mother had called me a human to degrade me.

It won't be the first time she would so such.

Dandelions were her favorite I'll pick them for her and make a bouquet for her and apologize to her.

Elvira and her friends were laughing as were went through the fields.

The moonlight shown and the fireflies buzzed around.

I touched Elvira.

"Elvira do you know anyone named Aine?" I asked.

She crossed her brows.

"No. Where did you hear that name? One of your imaginary friends?" She asked me.

I felt a soft pang of hurt in my chest.

Then Elvira smiled at me.

"I'm sorry. I don't know who that is." She said. "I shouldn't be such an ass to you."

I shifted as I followed her on.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"It's somewhere fun." She assured me. "You would like it don't worry."

We kept on walking and my feet got tired but I didn't want to tell Elvira I was getting exhausted.

She was going to be pissed at me and she had never ever for once involved me in any of her activities.

So I kept my mouth shut.

Eventually we came to a stop at a hill.

There was a large number of Faes and they all looked high ranking.

There were no children and my insides told me that we should be here.

"Elvira I don't think I like this."'I finally opened up.

"Don't worry." She said. "Trust me. I'm you're big sister aren't I?"

Her friends looked at me and I didn't want to seem like I was being a wuss so I followed them.

Then Leon came and joined them.

My heart skipped instantly and I felt my face grow red.

He looked at me and a frown came over his face.

He turned to Elvira as if asking her what I was doing here.

"We have to follow the back." Sirling said before a conversation ensued.

Leon said nothing and then we all followed Sirling as she led the way.

The Faes didn't see us and so we were able to finally get into the cave.

We all got in, but as soon as I turned, I didn't see any of them.

"Elvira? Guys?" I said.

But it was dark and I couldn't see anyone.

It was like they had all vanished.

I tried my best to scramble through the rocks at my feet.

But I fell down.

"Elvira! Elvira! Elvira!" I called out.

But there was no one and my heart beat began to race.

I couldn't find my way out, there was no light it was all dark.

And then I realized that my sister who I adored with everything in me, had betrayed me, deceived me and left me here to die.
