Chapter 31: Resurrection

They had dubbed me a Soul Healer, a name befitting my magic. But not all of it. Power flowed from me into the world—into Cane and his pack. I sensed his injuries, all internal. The blood surrounding him wasn't real, not exactly. The guilty party had done it to get my attention.

Unfortunately for them, it worked.

Cane's injuries knitted back together, his soft sigh of relief a balm to my ears. We held onto each other, but by the end, he held me as my magic sought to restore peace to his pack and erase the black magic spell tearing it apart.

Evan's head jerked up. I couldn't see him any longer, but I felt him. I knew he still stood in front of me, his face a mask of concern as I sat in meditation. But the moment the power pulsed from me, Evan might not have seen it, but he felt it.

"Wow," he breathed, the voice a whisper inside of my head.

"Aspen."
