Chapter 32: A Makeout Sesh & a Betrayal

He didn't kiss me. Not at first. His lips hovered perilously close to mine as his fingers rose up to smooth the unruly hair from my face.

"You're so beautiful," he whispered, his breath fanning against my cheek. The heat between our bodies pulsed, a force field pulling us together. We sat in this space, invisible to the rest of the world, to everyone except for the all-seeing eyes of Death.

Evan stood above our physical bodies, a stalwart guard against those who might do us harm. Cane's fingers traced down my jaw, the caress sending heat through every pore of my body.

"Thank you, Aspen. For saving me. My Pack."

I nodded, unable to speak, his touch sending fire racing through my cells.

He leaned forward and touched our lips together.
