The Artifact (Flashback)

Yun Haoran lay waste in the Devil's Lair, his eyes having no emotions like he did something. There is debris all over with the residue of combat and massacre. The power of corruption trying to pollute anything. It was purified with the sacred aura of Life and the Wood Qi started creating trees in the surroundings.

He has no ounce of intent nor does he have a residual qi, like a mortal human without question. He has control over his body. If he became stronger it would only mean he would go to the realm where even his thoughts can create a maelstrom.

Then, a large black centipede appeared above his head. It had a menacing aura and the meaning of Slaughter can be seen from its eyes.

Yun Haoran looked at the huge centipede and asked, "Did you finish already?"

The huge centipede nodded in response as it encircled Yun Haoran then became smaller. It then goes up from his hair while he enjoys the morning wind.

Whitey then appeared from the rubbles, encircling Yun Haoran and then going up from his neck.

"Now I know what formation they are trying to employ. Bringing back an Ancestor? In all your Dreams." Yun Haoran said as he looked at the far horizon without fear in his eyes. It also felt that he was challenging someone on its au

Then he was enveloped by a terrifying killing intent. Yun Haoran only smiled crookedly with his eyes trying to shut down.

The two centipedes being afraid are wiggling themselves although they have absolute trust in Yun Haoran and use this chance to feel the suppressing power.

He was being suppressed from all sides and a vast killing intent with the power to devour anything gnawed on his mind.

A few seconds later it stopped with Yun Haoran looking at his hands. The intent of the Devil could be seen from it. It had the power of pollution and devourment but without its essence or karmic relationship. It had no bloodline powers or it is even the real thing.

He murmured, "Thank you, Oh Devil Saint. You only solidified the power I have."

The killing intent comes from the Devil Saint of the Devil Cultivators. He can kill Yun Haoran but he cannot tolerate the wrath of Elder Gold Sword, someone that even madness cannot fathom.

Yun Haoran may have been fine but anytime soon, he would be terrified that he could collapse anytime. He was not strong enough to contend with a Saint or he had the guts to even try to fight one.

"I'll pay you back a hundred times in the future." Yun Haoran murmured again.

Yun Haoran perhaps has an absolute trust that Elder Gold Sword would show up. He cannot afford to have his talented disciple killed after all.

"Next agenda is that. I should finish it and try its effects on mortals." Yun Haoran said as his eyes had a mysterious gleam on them.

If he ever successfully deployed it, it would be real entertainment for mortals. They are bored because they can only work and without any substance to their everyday lives. It had unlimited potential as long as he was successful in that creation.

The worst it could get is being electrocuted by a Lightning Tribulation or being killed because of the Taboo he had created.

"A few years later, it could even potentially become mainstream even for Cultivators. I could gather immense karma and luck because of that. Hehe." Yun Haoran said as he flew away thousands upon thousands of kilometers. Blackie who was full of eating Devils had been particularly slow walking in the sky.

On a mountaintop, he sat down and created thousands upon thousands of formations. There are pill formation, rune formation, and talisman formation. To show his expertise in this field, he connected them all.

When it was all connected, he threw thousands upon thousands of metals that shot out and buried themselves in the formation. They become one with the formation as magical runes engrave themselves upon them.

Next, a large cube manifested in the air. It was solid but also with different runes engraved on it. It can also be seen it was a meteorite that would come for tribulations often.

Yun Haoran had a hardened smile on his face and murmured, "This is harder than I thought. Even a supreme heaven-defying genius such as myself would find it hard to control."

He was not boasting or being arrogant but a reality. He masters all types of Professions and even the vile arts of Poison and Gu that only the Demons use. If not for his insufficient Cultivation, he would undoubtedly become the #1 expert on things like this.

When it was done, the large cube crumbled, turning into smaller cubes. The formations become a parasite that sticks themselves to the smaller cubes, lighting them up and creating myriad different inscriptions.

The metals then condense themselves to create smaller versions. With synergy, they all go to the cube. An explosion of white light shot out from all directions and turned the world into white light.

All kinds of energy are interconnected. Even the boundless life force connected itself, empowering the other energies.

The world returned to its original color and there was a gray cube floating in the air and Yun Haoran who was panting and gasping for air.

He was pale but evident in his smile is satisfaction. He can be killed by even a mortal with a punch. The twin centipede becomes alerted. They enlarged their bodies and protected Yun Haoran.

He then murmured, "Next is the tribulation. If you are my creation, you definitely could pass it."

While saying it, he swallowed countless pills that returned to his body. His dried-up foundation returned but he needed some rest for a few months.

"Even with resources that could create countless Primordial Souls, I would still be sucked dry. Luckily, it didn't damage my overall Foundation.

The cube floated in the sky. It emits no energy but it has a mysterious power and the ability to nourish the soul.

The sky then gathered clouds in the sky and when it was all finished, lightning struck the cube. It struck in all directions mysteriously. The cube would also absorb the Lightning making it have an electric current running down from it.

Artifacts didn't need to go down the tribulations but those exceptional artifacts that are recorded in history had all passed their own tribulations. There is two reason for it, to make it stronger by going into Tribulation and also to know its quality.

An artifact that passed a tribulation had a higher value than those who didn't, after all.

After 30 minutes of tribulation, the world returned to normal. A light then descended from it.

"It is scanning." Yun Haoran thought while trying to feel that mysterious power. "Gotcha." He added with a mysterious smile on his face.

Heaven's Scan. The Heaven would scan the Artifacts that were created for two reasons. If someone created an artifact with a new attribute, the Heavens would reward them. And if Heaven is satisfied by the artifact, Heaven could also reward it with another attribute.

His smile is because he was hoping for another attribute or reward for creating a one-of-a-kind attribute in his artifact. It would make his artifact grow into its current limitations.

After a minute of Heaven's scan. The clouds gather again, bigger than ever.

When it was finished, it attracted clouds thousands of times bigger than the Artifact.

"Did I step into a taboo, perhaps?" Yun Haoran is not worried about the tribulation nor is he afraid he is stepping into taboo. He stepped into the unknown, the unknown is the most exciting.

No lightning nor a meteorite is descending. He waited for a Heart Tribulation or the rare Dream Tribulation but nothing had happened. For Heart Tribulation, he had an experience of it. For Dream Tribulation, he did not experience it but hoped he could explore his own Dream Realm.

Then a light descended on him, faster than he could process the situation.

Yun Haoran opened his eyes to see "Nothing"

"Blackie and Whitey?" He called them out and he felt the wriggling centipede.

"It's alright, trust your Father. Alright?" He smiled at them and the two nodded their heads.

"You are here, Yun Haoran." Yun Haoran heard a voice he could not even describe. He then looked to see a white being standing. He was a being made of light and with his height, he had the power to hold the world.

He was also so tiny that he could not hold anything, in other words, he had no definite height in this space.

"To think someone as lowly as me would be called out by Heaven. If I say this to those old fogeys, they would surely be delighted." Yun Haoran said as he bowed his head to the white being, in other words, Heaven itself.

"No, we are not completed. Only when the Path of Heaven and the luck converge could we have the connection again." The white being said while looking at Yun Haoran.

"Let me guess, you wanted my artifact for the Path of Heaven. It is a great idea but I promise you I didn't do it on purpose. I don't even know the Path of Heaven would manifest itself." Yun Haoran explained.

He was explaining that he didn't intend to call forth Heaven with his invention. It was a coincidence that the Path of Heaven and his invention are of the same origin.

Yun Haoran especially designed it with the imitation of Path of Heaven and also with the knowledge of Online games in his previous life. He also used the writings of those who experienced the Dream Realm.

He also knew that this guy was Heaven because of his instinctual knowledge of this guy. The one who controlled or rather the one who was controlling the order of Heaven and Earth.

"As expected of someone who made that kind of object. Our discussion would be faster. The idea of only Mind Image and not the physical form has a discussed throughout the years but not one succeeded. Only the Dream Realm had been achieved so far, after all.

By having mortals try it first, it would evolve to let Cultivators also occupy it." The white being said with knowledge in his voice.

"So let us make a deal. I'll give you a Chaos Weapon of your choosing but sell this design to me. Your design would be the Path of Heaven for many generations this world had nothing off." The white is being added.

"Let me make a condition. Join me on that plan of yours. I am a genius inventor so I have more ideas in my head. If you allow me, this Path of Heaven would be a permanent one." Yun Haoran said with confidence in his eyes. He gave the Path of Heaven a grand goal, to let it become a permanent object.

"It would also connect to the Path of Heaven from other continents and would transform like this kind of thing. I could 'Update' it however I like. If you read all my information, I am a fair and square one." He added.

"Hmm, let me read your record first." The white being said then Yun Haoran waited then a smile curve on his face.

"Alright, it is a deal. If the Path of Heaven from other continents finally connected in this. I'll give you the Chaos Weapon of your liking. In the meantime, I'll give you a reward based on your contribution." The white being said.

"Oh, wait. To make sure that you are truly the Heaven, make an oath to Grand Dao, The All Heavens, and the true Heavens itself." Yun Haoran said with uncertainty in his eyes. Even if it was Heaven itself he was talking about, he should make sure to know and understand all intricacies.

"Even if you know we are part of Heaven, you are making sure to hear it from our voice. You are smart." The white being said then nodded.

[As part of Heaven itself, as the Grand Dao, the All Heavens, and Divine Earths as the witness. We declared that we are the Order governing the Eastern Continent of Myriad Martial World. We are real and no one is controlling us in any way, form, size, and shape. Infinitely to Space Time and the Supreme Hidden Daos that governs the World.] It said, reverberating throughout the 'Nothingness.'

A white light then a piece of the Spiritual Intent of Yun Haoran floated then fused on each other.

The highest form of contract without the need of contract. No scheme or conspiracy because they know each other quite well, like a long-time friend. Yun Haoran knew Heaven is fair and square and he may scheme but also fair in his judgement.

"Don't worry. You'll not regret this." Yun Haoran said with a smile then a book manifested in his palm floating.

"Alright, here is my whole design. Not even a percent of the one I made but I did a good job, no?" Yun Haoran added, giving an explanation that the one he had created was not the whole but only a percent of it.

It was because of his lack of cultivation he could not create anything out of his ideas.

"Hmm, yes. I'll call you later if there is a problem I cannot understand." The white being said then Yun Haoran was banished from that white space.

Yun Haoran opened his eyes again on that same mountaintop with the white cube, he then murmured, "Interesting."
