Chapter 4 Meeting

In the bustling streets of the city, Nami found herself reveling in her newfound happiness, thanks to her relationship with Lex Arthur. After escaping the clutches of her toxic ex-boyfriend, Nami had become Lex's girlfriend, joining a family known for their shipping business. While Lex might not have been the wealthiest man in the city, he could provide Nami with everything she desired. She was well aware of Lex's desires for her, but she felt no qualms about leveraging her attractiveness to get what she wanted, as long as it suited her.

Nami understood the transitory nature of such relationships. She knew that her beauty would hold Lex's attention for a while, but she also understood that in this world, a more beautiful woman could easily replace her. Despite being slightly above average in looks, Lex was no match for someone like Rex, who, while less fortunate financially, possessed a striking handsomeness that outshone Lex's charm.

As Nami strolled through the supermarket with Lex and his two bodyguards, she couldn't help but feel like the world was at her fingertips. However, what she hadn't anticipated was a shocking encounter. There, amidst the aisles, stood Rex, holding a few clothing items in his hands. Nami's surprise was palpable; she had believed Rex to be either hospitalized or worse, considering the brutal beating he'd endured just two days ago. But here he was, seemingly alive and well, and he had noticed them too.

In Rex's mind, a storm brewed as he observed Nami walking toward him. He felt a burning anger, an intense urge to confront her. "What the hell is she doing here?" he seethed inwardly, his resentment bubbling to the surface. He couldn't believe his eyes; it was his ex-girlfriend Nami, and she was with Lex, the very man he held responsible for his recent suffering.

As Nami and her entourage closed in, she decided to throw the first verbal punch. "Well, look who we have here," she sneered, directing her taunts at Rex. "A piece of garbage that refuses to stay in the trash where it belongs."

Rex's jaw clenched, and his fists tightened involuntarily as Nami's words cut deep. He felt a surge of anger, his blood boiling at the sight of her. He couldn't believe how she could follow him like a shadow, reveling in his misery.

Lex, eager to flex his influence, chimed in, "Rex, what brings you here? You know, if you'd stayed in the hospital, maybe you wouldn't be in this sorry state again."

Nami added her own taunt, "Oh, Rex, did you decide to play stalker today?"

The trio's condescension ignited a seething rage within Rex, but he had learned to harness such emotions. Instead of succumbing to the provocation, he saw an opportunity within the chaos.

As Nami's bodyguards advanced menacingly, Rex's inner voice delivered an urgent message: [DING... Emergency quest alert!! SOMEONE WANTS TO BEAT YOU. ARE YOU GONNA STAY STILL? BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF THEM .... REWARDS: A CHANCE TO GET A GOOD JOB AND 10+ IN ALL STATS.]

With newfound purpose and adrenaline coursing through his veins, Rex decided not to be the victim any longer. He wouldn't let them trample over him. The first bodyguard lunged at him with a punch, but Rex swiftly ducked under the blow and retaliated with a powerful punch to the face. Without missing a beat, he followed up with a kick to the ribs, sending the bodyguard staggering backward.

The second bodyguard charged, aiming a wild haymaker at Rex's head, but he dodged it with split-second precision. Capitalizing on the opportunity, he delivered an uppercut to the bodyguard's chin, sending him reeling.

The first bodyguard, recovering from the punch to his ribs, attempted another charge, aiming to tackle Rex to the ground. But Rex was ready. He sidestepped gracefully, delivering a swift elbow strike to the bodyguard's back, causing him to stumble forward.

Seizing the opening, Rex unleashed a powerful roundhouse kick to the side of the first bodyguard's head. The impact was thunderous, and it sent the bodyguard sprawling to the ground, incapacitated and dazed.

With both assailants down, Rex took a moment to catch his breath and survey the situation. The bodyguards remained motionless, their bravado extinguished.

Turning his attention to Lex, Rex approached with an air of unyielding determination. Lex, now visibly shaken, took a step back, attempting to regain some semblance of composure.

Rex sneered darkly, his voice a low, menacing growl. "Oh, Lex, you believe your family name grants you invincibility? You think you're untouchable because you're a 'young master'? You're sorely mistaken."

Lex stammered, his bravado crumbling. "R-Rex, please, I didn't mean any harm. We can talk this out. I can compensate you, I can..."

I cut him off with a mocking laugh. "Compensate me? You think money can buy your way out of this mess you've gotten yourself into? You have no idea who you're dealing with."

Stepping closer, I leaned in towards Lex, my voice lowering to a dangerous whisper. "You see, Lex, I've learned not to rely on family names or titles. You think Im scared of your family , oh Lex you are highly mistaken And I am here to give what you deserve."

Fear flickered in Lex's eyes as he struggled to regain control. "You think you can just come in and beat me? You're nothing compared to the Arthur family."

A cold smile curled at the corner of my lips. "Funny, Lex. Because I'm here now and your bodyguards couldn't even touch me. Perhaps you're underestimating me."

Lex's voice wavered as he attempted to regain control. "This isn't over, Rex. My family won't let you get away with this."

I chuckled again, a dark, rumbling sound that echoed through the room. "Oh, Lex, you really think I'm afraid of your precious Arthur family? You see, I've learned that true power isn't about a last name or the size of your bank account. It's about what you're willing to do to claim it. And I am willing to do anything."
