A Midsummer Night's Love Poem

12

Joseph groaned in pain. Seeing that I left him alone looking angry, he immediately followed me.

He called, "Hey!"

I said, "Leave me alone."

He asked, "Are you angry?"

I screamed, "I almost thought I would have to take care of you for the rest of my life!"

Joseph grabbed my collar and dragged me close to him. He was 6 feet tall, much taller than me. He bent over and whispered to me, "Let's make a deal."

I felt aggrieved and wanted to cry. "What do you want to say?"

I thought he would promise that he would never bully me again.

He smiled gently, "Let me take care of you for the rest of your life."

I heard my heart beating faster and faster.

Tears welled up in my eyes and my mind was a mess. I imagined a little girl running around and screaming excitedly.

Joseph kept staring at me directly. I looked away in embarrassment thinking of what Lucia said before.
