She had never seen me, but she kept me company for a month until the day she died in front of me.

At that time, I had just moved here. As I was having a hard time writing a new story, I spent my days with anxiety and insomnia.

After days of losing sleep, I was wrapped in extreme loneliness and a haze. It felt as if I would die in this unfamiliar city at any time soon.

While I was in that state, I saw her, the woman in a red sweater, cooking in the opposite kitchen.

The buildings in the residential area I lived in were half H-shaped, so my kitchen windows faced the windows of the kitchen of my neighbor across. The distance between the two windows was less than 3 feet.

Thus, I could clearly see what the kitchen on the other side looked like and who was cooking inside.
