I have known my best friend since high school, and we have met each other's parents. We were the best excuse to go out with our boyfriends.

Now that work is starting to get busy, we have fewer opportunities to meet, but our feelings haven't faded much.

We still shared everything.

This was the first time we had talked to each other like this in the past six months.

I told her everything about me and Peter, from the moment I decided to pursue him to our breakup.

"So you're saying the reason you broke up was that his mother thought you made more money than him and weren't a good homemaker, so she made him break up with you?"

I nodded.

"And at the time, he was already trying to date the girl his mother introduced to him," I sighed, "I never thought he would come looking for you."

When we were together, it happened that my best friend's company arranged for her to go to England for a year of academic exchange.

So when he was with me, he never saw my best friend.
