Chapter 12
As summer ended, the anniversary of my mom's passing approached.
On the news, it was reported that a powerful typhoon was heading our way, so I decided to visit her grave two days early.
.
As I walked up to the entrance of the cemetery with my mom's favorite bouquet in hand, I saw a man squatting in front of her tombstone.
It was Ewan, diligently repairing the rain cover over my mom's grave with a trowel and freshly mixed cement. He was so focused on his task that he didn't even notice me.
"Good morning, I am here again. And as usual, please have some tea first," he said humbly.
He took out a teacup from his bag and put some flower petals in it. After that, he poured some hot water from a thermos into the cup.
In no time, he prepared a cup of tea and respectfully placed it in front of my mom's photo, saying, "They said on the news that there's a typhoon coming in two days, so I came early to see you this year. I also repaired the rain cover for you."
