I looked in the direction she pointed and found nothing different. All the doors in the corridor looked the same.
Maybe she could see the difference from her position.
"This door?" I walked to a door with doubt.
Cassie nodded.
Without any hope, I stretched out my hand and pushed it. I thought I would fail as I had done to other doors.
Unexpectedly, the door opened!
The door slipped inside quietly, and then a rotten and musty smell came out.
I covered my nose, took a step back, and stretched out my neck to look. It was dark, like a cave.
The light in the corridor could only enter a few inches before the darkness behind the door devoured it.
"Hurry up and come in," I was overjoyed and reached out to Cassie.
She held my hand. Her hand was cold and wet as if she had just taken it out of ice water.
I pulled her up and pushed her into the darkness behind the door.
I followed.
As soon as the door was closed, the room became completely dark.
